Downshifting from 3rd to 2nd
So I have a 93' non turbo 7.3 IDI with a 5 speed manual. Should I be able to drop down into 2nd gear at say 12-15mph with no grind? Even rev matching I can't seem to get it back in to 2nd gear unless I get below 10mph which means that I have to either lug the hell out of 3rd or come almost to...- themechanicalford

Yeah I thought it was a pretty good idea and then when I checked YouTube I couldn't believe I didn't see any videos of anyone doing it. That makes me feel much better! I started it the other day in the lower 40's and cycled the plugs 3x and it fired up. I need to get it switched to a dash switch. I only need two lengths of wire and a spring loaded switch correct? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- themechanicalford

Yeah I was thinking something like a permanent plug in 120vAC to 12vDC converter for cold starting in the morning. Just seemed like it's something that would exist in my mind. I figure if I've already got a cord running to it why not! Yeah I am planning to replace them with the motorcraft...- themechanicalford
