Oh wow, looks easy to work with but I live on the dirt roads in the woods and that would just get too easily gummed up under there. Are those just two of the same filters plumbed in-line?
Are there any changes that I should make to this fuel filter setup for ease of maintenance or better performance?
I have a small leak that just started from underneath (maybe the lower o-ring?) that I haven’t started to explore yet because I want to have a new filter in hand before I take...
Wow I’m not sure, but actually wondering about prices myself. Since Brandon got behind the drivers seat and prices got out of control I wondered how it would affect our old girls. I paid $6,500 for a SRW 7.3 F350 4x4 in goood shape inspected back in 2020. Unfortunately there’s so few for sale...
Check the plastic bushings on the door pins, my guess is they are toast. Get yourself a 1/2 piece of PEX and cut to the length of the pin. You’ll have to tap the pex over the pin with a hammer and piece of wood because it fits tight. After that your doors should shut perfectly. The door pin...
Will I be happy with these headlights? If Im in an inspection state can I add LED’s to this to improve performance or no? If I can’t add LED’s to this, is there any way that I can add LED’s?
Also, for $40 is this really including the plastic housings and bulbs? Seems cheap.
Rock Auto TYC
Oh right, good point. Well it’s neither idling high nor clanking anymore. I don’t think the high idle has worked since I’ve owned it but the timing advance did last year.
That’s interesting. Last winter she would sound like a bag of hammers (as someone here put it) which I think is indicative of it working correct? Maybe it either broke over the summer or is mis-adjusted.
You happen to have a pic of what they look like or where they are located so I can do some testing?
Also, are these parts still available as replacements? I thought I read somewhere that you couldn’t buy the cold idle solenoids anymore.
Hey man I really appreciate the well thought out reply. I actuallly went to order glow plugs the other day and know that I need the motorcraft brand, but it looked like they were less than $10 on Rockauto and figured I must have had the wrong part, no?
I will search the inter webs for a good...
Hey guys, question about cold start RPM’s with a non working high idle solenoid.
When I start the truck in cold temps (35 or below) I usually plug it in for about 2 hours beforehand, cycle the glow plugs 2x, put the pedal to the floor and she fires right up. Now in the summer I let my foot...
I am about to buy the Opti Lube XL which I’ve heard good things about. There was a thread posted where someone linked a wear test that someone did using all sorts of different additives and Opti Lube was one of the better ones. The best was bio diesel actually. Most people don’t have access...
Starved for fuel from a low tank. Also going up a hill could have pushed the fuel to the back of the tank. Mine bucks like a wild horse when it gets low and starved like that.
I cant offer an help, but as someone who has no choice but to lay in the mud while working on my truck - I couldn’t be more sympathetic to the cause, and wish I could help. Out of curosity, how far is the truck in the air for you to be able to slide this under there and move it around? Just...
I think what he is saying is that he is able to bypass the filter setup completely until he has enough heat in the truck. It seems like the filter loop robs enough heat from the core that you cant get the truck warm in cold weather. I saw a guy that installed a temp valve style bypass for the...
I am just getting ready to install a filter housing on my 93 7.3L IDI and this sounds like a great setup. Do you have any pics of your install? Are all your bypass valves manually actuated? Ive seen some use a temperature actuated bypass but I’m not sure if I want to get into all that if I...
Bought the truck last year used and it has green coolant. Guy says that he had the Ford dealership do the coolant flush recently, (I assume they used the green coolant with the additive). I now need to add some coolant and I purchased the purple coolant. Am I okay to mix this new purple...
Thanks. Are the torque specs listed on this site somewhere? Nobody has gotten back to me with the correct specs and now that you’ve mentioned mistakes in the manual I’m not sure about going that route either!
I couldn’t get anything to come up for this using a modified google site search on here so I apologize if it’s been posted before.
I am replacing the tie rod and drag arm on my 93’ F350 and I need to know the torque specs for the 3 tie rod ends (passenger, driver and pitman arm links) as well...
It looks like maybe they aren’t great so I’m not sure if I’d chance it. There is apparently a place called alldata that has everything online but its maybe $60 for the year.
Yeah, after I posted I saw something on a scam report about them. Then I saw that YouTube guy mention the alldatadiy so I am looking at them now. Does it have all engine and chassis schematics and specs for our trucks?
