It doesn't "change gears" Gary....it is the TC locking/unlocking.....
If you really want a good example of just how critical brake lights/ turn signals are......drive down the road at a constant speed above 45 mph and turn on the 4 way flashers and watch the tach :eek:...the TC cycles with...
:thumbsup: just sou know....using the EBPV that way will only give the desired result at 3k rpms and above....I tried that and couldn't justify leaving it operational..

Re-check all wiring on that "premium" install kit.......main power and grounds are generally solid color...
Well....It recieves a 5 volt reference on the Brown/White ---- ground circuit on the Black/White wire. It also sends a .9 volt to 4.5 volt signal on the Green/White wire to the PCM to indicate throttle position.
The IVS is a normally closed switch. It has 2 wires, 1 is a Brown, a fused battery...
I'm not the sharpest on auto's but from past experience....any brake lights out?
While driving in OD, with your right foot holding a steady road speed...gently depress the brake pedal and release---can you see the tach change rpm/feel the conv un-lock?

Can you disconnect and just touch the speaker wires together and hear the "titch"? Do this with the volume on the low side---it can be harmful to the speaker if done at higher volume!

The price is comming down due to winter heating fuel usage tapering off....just wish I had a large underground storage tank and re-circulator system to keep the algae out......

one other thing comes to mind...the PCM is behind the parking brake assy and cover on the OBS as opposed to being more easily acessable on the SD on it's own shelf just below left of the steering colum......
