    Catch can

I am using the provent 200 clone on mine without the cdr. However I also have it set up to drain the captured oil back into the crankcase when the truck gets shut off.

    aluminum vs. copper radiators

Probably something to do with brass being more structurally sound making better frames and tanks, while copper is a better heat transfer material better for the tubes and fins. Although this is just a guess on my part.

Which One Would You Pick for a Gasser Swap; 6.9, 7.3, or 7.3 PS?

The 6.9 head gaskets have extra coolant passages that allows better cooling of the engine (so long as you also knock out the corresponding plugs in the block and heads) this helps with the overheating problems some people get with the 7.3 idi.

    1997 f350 passenger bank misfire

While working on the truck, I found it has AB injectors in it instead of AA injectors. It is a 1997 non california model so am I wrong in thinking it should be AA instead of AB?

    Air conditioning to air compressor

The york compressors do a good job as an air compressor. I've seen they tend to average out at 10cfm. There is plenty of info on things that you can do to make it more effective and reduce oil consumption.

    1997 f350 passenger bank misfire

I did the buzz test and a P1293 Injector High Side Open Circuit - Bank 1 code showed up Edit: I checked again with a known good uvch (driver side) and I still get the same code so I do not believe the issue is with that.

    Air conditioning to air compressor

It is possible to do however you will have to find a way to push oil into the air inlet of the compressor and remove it again from the outlet otherwise the compressor will seize up if you do not oil it.

Need advice on a 6.9 purchase

'87 is the transition year that has the modified 6.9. If there is no coolant in the oil, chances are slim of there being a cavitation issue.

Need advice on a 6.9 purchase

The 6.9 didn't have the cavitation issues unless it was bored out. The most likely cause of the bubbling coolant would be the head gasket. I know there was a point during the transition between the 6.9 and 7.3 where it was labeled a 6.9 but was bored out to the 7.3 bore. The easiest way to...

    1997 f350 passenger bank misfire

The passenger side is an aftermarket uvch which is what lead me to believe that was the issue but I would think if it was an issue it would have ohmed out bad. I haven't done a buzz test yet but I'll do that later today.

    1997 f350 passenger bank misfire

My dad has a 1997 f350 powerstroke and the passenger bank does not seem to be contributing much if anything. I ohmed out the uvch and injectors along with the harness to the idm. From the idm plug through each injector back to the idm plug all read between 3.3-3.5ohms so the harness side appears...

help a noob identify these components

Lol. My bad. I was referring to the ip mounting nuts with my advice. I would agree that a crows foot would be the best bet for the injection lines.

help a noob identify these components

I find I can get it with a stubby wrench although most people bend and grind a standard wrench to reach.

Ticking on deceleration in time with speedometer wobble

The liner in the speedometer cable that allows it to move freely might be worn out causing it to catch and release causing a clicking sound and making the speedometer needle wobble.

    1985 6.9 Project

I believe that is the sensor that turns on your brake warning light if one side of the brake system fails. It looks like the old one grounds through the 2nd wire while the new one grounds through the body of the valve. To figure out which wire to use, with the key on, touch one wire to ground...

Lift pump vs Injection Pump CC

The holley pumps are push pumps not pull pumps so the more restrictions on the inlet, the more issues you can get. On my truck, I set up a 50 mesh screen to act as a pre-filter to protect the fsv and lift pump. The benefit is, there will be very little restriction and the main fuel filter can...

Lift pump vs Injection Pump CC

I believe 90cc maxes out the stock lift pump. I am currently running the holley black on my 110cc ip and it should handle your 150cc ip just fine. With wmo I do not have any experience with it however the holley pumps being a vane pump should be able to handle the thicker fuel of wmo with...

    7.3 idi cracked head?

I would say a head gasket failure would be more likely. The way to test this is to get a compression test on all cylinders and get a combustion gas coolant test strip kit to see if you are getting combustion gasses into the coolant

CDR valve tube breaking apart and stuck

When I encounter this issue, I usually break apart the hardened rubber and pull it out chunk by chunk. The baffle under the hole does a good job of catching any chunks that fall into it. Just make sure to fish them out when done.
