True............most of my equipment is what provides me with income, so I guess it’s a matter of making sure I only get equipment that will pay for itself
Good luck man! Keep us posted on the build! Mine is a 3.6 liter inline 4 cylinder. Purrs like a kitten. I need to be careful.......I’m only 17 and already have 3 trailers, 2 diesels, and a bunch of other random equipment :joker:
I am sorely tempted to put a turbo on it. It would be really really really easy to do........., but it already has almost 100 horsepower for its little self. It really is a beast. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets turbo before the year is up though
Well, technically this isn’t truck related, but it’s a diesel, and I used my truck to pick it up, so I’m going to post about itLOL yesterday I got a 90’s Ford 4230 tractor. It’s a non turbo, but man it has a lot of power! And a 12 spd trannyLOL
So, we got 4-5 feet of snow in the last couple days, and yesterday as I was fighting snow drifts my front driveline started a slight pinging sound. I pulled it out and the cv joint is shot. I threw it back on so I can get unstuck until I get a new driveline on the way. Snow can be fun, but tons...
This will be our first big real storm too. I think the most we have ever got all at one time before was 3.5 feet. This storm looks like it will be setting some records. They are also saying 50+ mph wind with 70+ mph ridge winds
I went out and helped a neighbor get their backhoe running. It was beautiful and crisp at 10 degrees The weather man is predicting 5-8 feet of snow to come in the next couple days, so I sure enjoy having this beautiful morning
Good point LOL He has an exhaust brake too and uses that as a reason for taking the load he does. I really don’t mind though, there are few things that make me happier than watching my old beast pull even with modern diesels
I’ve got a boss who can’t do math either LOL more than once my dinosaur has had the heaviest load put on it while his tuned 2012 Cummins gets to joy ride. I will say though, I can almost out pull him:joker:
I ran some grades with my new intercooler today, and I absolutely love it! It’s almost impossible to get over 900* on the egts now. Hottest I was able to get was 1050, and that was blasting up a winding 6% grade at 75 mph floored in fifth( yes, I was speeding  But it was for research...
I installed my intercooler today. It was easier than I thought it would be, yet it also took longer than I thought it would LOL I’m really excited to see how it does!
It is very rewarding for me. It’s a 600 acre cattle outfit in the mountains. I will be training horses and building saddles part time as well. All stuff I love
I picked up a fifth wheel today. Despite it being a 1985 and 28 feet long, it only weighs about 5500 and pulls really well. I’ll be living in it this summer on a ranch I’m managing
I had to do almost the exact thing on my 79’ stock trailer this summer. It got a new frame and new floor and new mats. It was interesting trying to mate the new steel to the rotted stuff. It’s solid now. Good luck on yours!
I’ve decided to intercool my 94 idit. I have Wes’s 3583 turbo and 90cc pump, and the truck pulls real well, just hot. I’ve got everything ordered and on its way. Piping kit showed up today. I was able to source all my materials for around $200, including the intercooler. The setup is going to be...
