Craigslist 85 CC DRW any thoughts?

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/4251004418.html In case it may be of interest to anyone, I came across this ad today. I'm not sure what to think as the ad indicates it may have tranny problems and it definitely needs a paint job. I really want to get a truck like that at some point...

just did return lines same two still leak?

Where exactly is the fuel leaking from. The top of the flare nut? From under the cap? Above the cap? That info could help narrow down the problem. Regarding the steel lines, I think it's best to really be sure that's your problem. If you do need a new steel line, dipaco makes them and...

just did return lines same two still leak?

I made that exact same mistake, cross threading an injector when tightening the steel line. Hopefully you didn't do that, but a mistake like that can defiantly cause the leak your talking about. Actually, when I did that, I think fuel was seeping out of the top of the flare nut.

    Thoughts on a remote start

Sounds like more trouble than it's worth. If you do decide to do it and get it working, make sure to post a write-up on how you did it, because I'd be willing to bet you're not the only one who's thought of doing that.

fuel tank sending unit were to find

Try the link below to an ebay store. You can do a search using the part number if you have it, even if Ford tells you the part is discontinued, they should be able to tell you the part number. I have been able to find a number of hard to find parts being sold here that dealers say are...

Does this look like a good buy?

I'm seriously considering going to take a look. I'm already sold on IDIs, I like knowing that if something major were to go wrong, I can still get the problem fixed for much less money than the $10-15k repairs I hear about for Powerstrokes. I would definately consider a Sidewinder btw. I have an...

Does this look like a good buy?

I don't care much for the 8th gen body style much either, but I want an IDI crew cab dually, so I am limited as to what there is out there. 7th gen crew cabs seem to be quite rare and 9th gen is only 92-94 for IDIs so, there aren't as many of those out there either. I could always swap out the...

    Craigslist- sometimes i wonder

Yeah, I saw that Jeep ad a few weeks ago too. Seems strikingly similar. Whatever its all about, its pretty funny, that's for sure.

Does this look like a good buy?

I'm not sure what to think either. I kind of have a feeling something isn't right about it, but then again it could be legit. I'm not an any rush so I will definitely take my time and not rush into anything. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I guess I will think about it for a week or so and...

Does this look like a good buy?

I live in Southern California, and have been passively looking for a Crew Cab dually. There aren't too many for sale around here, either on craigslist or auto trader. I found the one in the link which looks to be in decent shape and the price is fairly cheap, the only thing is it's a dealer...

Need help diagnosing rough running issue

Both the injectors and pump are original. The truck has 76k original miles on it, I know that because the PO was a relative. During the past 10 years, until I got the truck in 2010, it wasn't driven much, it was just garaged. I know it is low mileage for injectors/IP to go bad, but I am...

Need help diagnosing rough running issue

I'm new to the forum and I figured it's time to start a thread about a problem that I have been having for awhile. I have a feeling it may be several issues and not just one problem. Basically when I start the truck up in the morning, while the cold timing advance is on, it tends to run...

    New here

I am new to this forum. I have a 1986 F250 6.9l with a Bank turbo, reg cab 2wd auto. I've had the truck since 2010, and I'm always reading the forums, so figured it's about time that I actually join. I really like the old Ford diesels and the fact that they are inexpensive to maintain and and...
