Fuel Gauge Help - New sender

Hmm that is opposite from my 85, but I just looked at the wiring diagram you posted and sure enough higher resistance is at full. Sorry for the bad info.

Fuel Gauge Help - New sender

If its pegged with the FSV disconnected, then your issue is between the FSV and the guage, not the tank. Have you followed the wire loom back into the cab and checked for damage?

Anyone familiar with the VW D24T?

I drove one of those from Hamburg to Amsterdam back in 1993. It was slow, but our purchases in Amsterdam made the return trip more bearable. They do not have a reputation for being reliable.

Fuel Gauge Help - New sender

you have a wiring issue between sender and gauge. I would check along frame for something that has abraded.

Fuel Gauge Help - New sender

Disconnect it from the sender and see if it stays pegged. If so you have a wire in the harness going to ground between the sender and the gauge. The sender is a resister. Open circuit is empty. Grounded is pegged full.

Any new fuel sending unit suppliers?

I have bought three different ones from these guys and all are working great. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-1989-Ford-F250-F350-Diesel-Pickup-Sending-unit-for-the-Side-tank-ONLY/391267780476

    Proper timing equipment?

I too bought one of these on ebay. They work great once you get the crank probe in place. That can be a PITA

Sludge/water and oil seperator for ibc tote

Looks good. I ended up adding a section of clear pipe to the drop leg so that I can see when it fills with sludge.

Other Alternative Fuel Forum out there?

What alternative fuel are you interested in? I have been doing WVO for 15 years and have also dabbled in WMO and WTF, but I like the smell of my exhaust best on WVO.

Looking to get into an IDI -

Walk away. 1. Its too expensive. 2.Seller is untrustworthy based on the 20mpg towing claim. 3. If it only has 73K original miles, its because the c-6 transmission is so poorly geared it has been kept off of the highway its entire life. All the low mileage IDI's I see nowdays are c-6 trucks...

    6.9/7.3 Tool kit

I have been working on these trucks for 20 years and never needed that kit. I am not even sure what some of that stuff is. What is so essential about it?

    Emissions testing in Nashville area

I am several counties away from Williamson, but I don't think they do much of anything for trucks that old. I have more contacts in that area with old Mercedes diesel folks and no one has ever mentioned anything about emissions.

    1984 6.9 radiator re-core cost

Decent used ones are not hard to find in TN. I assumed texas would be the same with no salt on the roads. A recore would be as good as new. I have spent the $$ to do that on tractor radiators that are harder to come by.

    1984 6.9 radiator re-core cost

That is probably about right for a recore. You are in texas though. If you have someone to core it can't you find a decent used one and have it rodded? I just did that to one for $150. Its like a new one now.

Diesel craft centrifuges in mobile setup

Yes the combo of hot water and simple green is best, but still not great. I usually take my WVO stuff to the car wash. It has hot high pressure spray. I use simple green full strength, let it soak for a minute or two and then pressure wash it. The only thing I have found better than that...

Diesel craft centrifuges in mobile setup

Simple green seems to work on WVO about as well as anything.

Worth the time to rebuild injectors myself for stock level applications?

Suzie usually answers, but I have had to leave a message before and they called me back. I seem to remember pretty slow email response. It is a small family business. They were able to source me a pretty obscure pump for my mid 60's international harvester so they are definitely on my good list.

Worth the time to rebuild injectors myself for stock level applications?

I did my own injectors earlier this year, and I would say it not worth it. Someone had given me the pop tester, and I had a drawer full of injectors to pull nozzles and shims from. The biggest issue is that without a full shim kit I was mixing and matching shims to get my pop pressures...

brand new napa starter not engaging flywheel

They gave you the wrong starter. PSD starter looks the same, but the gear doesn't stick out as far. Have them run the part numbers again. I just went through this with my parts store. They kept saying "that is a 7.3 starter" I finally had to run the part numbers for them after they complained...

    Not-Charging Frustration

If you stick with your 1g alternator, make sure you buy a quality voltage regulator. I like the motorcraft ones myself. A lot of the cheap ones are bad off the shelf or don't last long at all.
