    Blue smoke issue

I've ran it a few times up to temp to but never drove it till the first time, I'm having a hard time seeing that any oil would be left in the cylinders as would that not be burnt as fuel in combustion? Would oil in the intake make it blue or just burn it as fuel too? I'll pull injectors and the...

    Blue smoke issue

I had to move to a new place so I was a bit rushed getting it together enough to be able to drive it hence why I don't have much of anything on it for km. They machine shop did all the work and assembly so I'm not sure what the tolerances are besides in spec, I will pull injectors first as...

    Blue smoke issue

The injectors are new and no I didn't check them before putting them in, I'll pull them if no other suggestions come up, the engine is fully rebuilt with new valve guides and seals and valve job. The cdr is new and going into the valve cover as factory had it, turbo I rebuilt with a kit from...

    cheap injection line socket.

Have you actually tried to torque on this socket yet? I made one slowly using a grinder and it fit nicely but the moment you try to loosen the line it just spreads open and skips on the nut, going to try an impact socket next.

Hub seal leaks, what's too much?

Had this same issue when I got my truck, the cause is from a plugged diff vent that you really should pull out and make sure it's clear. Your going to need seals, the locknut socket, shoes, hardware kit wouldn't hurt, adjuster kit each side wouldn't hurt and you will need new wheel cylinders...

Hairbrained idea for cheap timing meter/onboard display

If I were doing this I would use the dampener as a sync pulse for the ip gear, that would be like new vechiles that have a cam and crank sensor, you'd have better resolution this way as you would have (ip gear =108 teeth per 2 revs/2 = 54 teeth per rev) 54 pulses per rev or a pulse every...

Working on my wipers... No delay function.

Here's one from the net, it's the black wire riveted to the switch and ground to the other grounds by the ebrake release lever

Working on my wipers... No delay function.

Correct, switch and control box are different but the motors are the same, does your switch have the ground wire on it still and grounded? If that's missing you will get no intermittent wipers, also check the capacitor inside the delay unit, I've seen them break legs and look fine.

    OBS wiper/ control module/issues.....

Does the black wire have ground all the time? How about the Y/R? When you turn the wipers on low or intermittent the module will send power down the DB/O for a second, once the motor starts to move the park switch moves to run, at this point the park switch is supplying the power to the motor...

    Rear driveshaft length

Anyone know the length of the rear driveshaft from a F350 RCLB with ZF5 and bw1356 tcase? Can't find a useful measurement online, everyone says the zf is 5 and 3/8" shorter then the e4od but mine was a 2wd c6 so I can't even go off of that. If anyone knows that length or has that same...

    Spring hangers

Wondering if anyone knows if you can bolt up the newer 99 up superduty rear spring hangers (the rear of rear) the bolt holes look to be in the same position in pictures that I can see but has anyone done this before? The reason I ask is I'm putting in rear superduty leafs and the hangers...

Another angle Just to note deleting the vacuum pump does reduce the amount of belt area around the ac compressor, I may have to put an idler in to fix that if it starts slipping.

l@@k what i scored in the lone star today!

I hate to say this but your rad mount hardware is upside-down. It should go from bottom up: bolt, large thick ish washer, rubber only bushing then mount then the top bushing with threaded insert then your spacers, rad support, washer and nut.

Dana 60 Spindle Needle Bearing Seal National SBK3

jhenegh you have the wrong kit for your axle, sbk3 (sb3) is for early axles that have the big Rock slinger on the stub axle (or dust shield whatever you want to call it) the seal you have on your stub axle will be loose and fall off easily. You need the sbk5 (sb5) that uses a different stub axle...

    What brand replacement motor mounts?

Just a word of caution when you buy new motor mounts, check the bolts that are welded in them and make sure they are half inch before you use it, the ones I got were 12 mm and I destroyed it! Nothing a few replacement bolts a welder didn't fix though.

    In truck middle u-joint replacement

I've done it where I just pull the pivot bolt out for the passenger side and drop it down enough to get the ball joint press in there and change it, no need to dismantle half the truck for that.

    Greaseable or sealed ball joints?

It really comes down to one thing, are you going to grease them regularly or not? If you are get the grease able one if you forget or tend not to do it then get the sealed ones. Grease able ones don't last very long if you don't grease them compared to the non grease able ones.

    zf5 trouble

Yes your correct that what I was calling a seal is the oil baffle, if that's missing or shredded it can cause failure of the pocket bearing. If the input oil scoop is missing or damaged the input shaft bearing will be poorly lubricated and the pocket bearing will get little to no oil at all...

    zf5 trouble

Yes that seal is new in that picture, and the seal does keep a certain amount of oil in there to lubricate the bearing, if the oil baffle in the front of the case is missing it will starve the pocket bearing too. No seal between the case haves just sealant

    zf5 trouble

What did the seal look like on the pocket bearing? If that seal is missing or gets shredded off it can take out the bearing. Pick of what I'm talking about.
