    Cooling System Pressure Test Results

Well, I went ahead and ordered the ARP stud kit from Justin. He has the best price far and away from everybody else ($435.00 shipped). If the studs take a while to get here it is not a problem for me as I won't tear into this project until the weather gets better anyway. Also gives me time to...

    Cooling System Pressure Test Results

Yup - I plan on that, Al. No better time to do the oil cooler o-rings than when the heads are off. Thanks for the reminder!

    Cooling System Pressure Test Results

Hydro-idi - I would agree. I already have the cherry picker as I recently bought it for pulling the heads. As long as I am replacing the WP anyway and will have the cooling system down, I will go ahead and replace the HG's. What I am really debating is whether or not to do studs or just use new...

    Cooling System Pressure Test Results

Just a small update: The water pump seal has now started to weep so I went ahead and put a bottle of Irontite into the cooling system. It appears to have stopped the leak at the rear of the driver's side head, but the water pump seal is still weeping. This is unfortunate as the bearing is still...

    Track bar with RSK?

Brian, I recall the "track bar with RSK" question being discussed a while back, and I thought I had that thread saved in my subscriptions. I'll be darned if I can find it though. From what I recall 6.9poweredscout (Jon) installed a D60 in his 2WD F350 and did a RSK too. He asked the questions...

    Plastidip truck?

You might want to look into this stuff. It is tough and repairable but does not get "chalky" or faded like bedliner. I painted my big, fiberglass truck cap with and it came out great. It can be rolled on or sprayed with an undercoating gun, which is what I did.http://www.monstaliner.com/

    Block heater cord

Is that a " Zero Start" cord? Gt a part number? Thanks!

    Fuel Tank Shower Head

Thanks for the pics! That looks like a nice setup. You should be able to get fuel no matter if the truck is pointed up or downhill or on two wheels going sideways!

    Block heater cord

This exact thing happened to me last winter. I went to plug in the block heater and got sparks. In my case, the wires in the cord right next to the plug (outside end, not the plug into the block heater itself) shorted because of the constant flexing in the cord right behind the plug. That, and...

    Fuel Tank Shower Head

JLtoolman - by any chance do you have any pics of your sump setup? I have thought about a sump for the middle tank. I will probably never do it but knowing that somebody has installed a sump makes me curious:D

    Fuel Tank Shower Head

The hose you see on the sending unit pics I posted is Viton hose. I "hope" it holds up very well! It was expensive. I also doubled up the stainless hose clamps for redundancy. The pics only show two clamps but I actually used 4 - 2 on each end.

needlenose - I checked out the photo of your copper showerhead - nice job!

    Fuel Tank Shower Head

yeah, I thought about the issue of wearing through the tank as well. I decided to use aluminum rivets to attach the screen to the funnel, rather than the stainless rivets I had orginally planned to use. My theory was that the aluminum would be softer than the steel tank and would wear rather...

    Fuel Tank Shower Head

Yup, many on here just have a piece of hose with a v-cut in the end so it doesn't suck itself tight to the bottom of the tank. Simple and it works. Knuckledragger made an awesome billet aluminum showerhead

    Fuel Tank Shower Head

In my humble opinion, I would never put one these factory showerheads in one of my fuel tanks ever again. I saw what the originals turned into (a million little bity-bits of black plastic) and won't risk that again. Ever wonder why we all have so many fuel selector valve problems? Perhaps some...

    Best starter?

I have had the Powermaster 9050 starter in my truck for over three years now and it still works great!

Body parts for you guys in the Rust Belt!

The longer this truck sticks around on CL. the more tempting it is for me to borrow a trailer and go down and get it. About a 4-5 hour drive from where I am. I'd pull the turbo parts off of it and then send the turbo to Russ to work his magic. Then the kit would go on my truck.:sly If it was 4x4...

Body parts for you guys in the Rust Belt!

Saw this one on Craigslist - located in Des moines, Iowa. Engine is apparently toast but look at all those great body parts! Wish I had the time and a trailer. Sure, it is 2 wheel drive, but all those great body parts, good interior and a complete turbo kit - somebody needs this thing so i...

    7.3 fuel filter heater wiring

These fuel heaters in the filter head are pretty much useless. If the you find the wire and hook it back up it can't hurt anything but won't really help much either. If the wire is no longer there and you have to run a new wire to it anyway, you would be better off wiring in "blanket heater"...

    Injector or Worse?

Here is the brush you need - works great to clean the injector bores. https://store.snapon.com/Injector-Brushes-Brush-Injector-P635579.aspx Of course, a 10 gauge or 12 gauge twisted wire shotgun bore brush will also work. Get the kind with the "loops" of wire and not the kind with the...

    Pillar Grab Handles

m67tang, that is the approximate location where the handles are mounted in the explorer too. I used big self tapping screws, which is also how the handles are mounted in the explorers. The step is a section I cut out of a free DEEZEE aluminum running board somebody threw out. The board was in...

    Cooling System Pressure Test Results

Yeah, I replaced valve cover gaskets this past summer. The Passenger side was tough to get off since it is so tight to the ac plenum. I am more concerned about that rearmost head bolt on the driver's side. That is so close to the firewall I cant see how I will get the torque wrench on there...
