What is the going rate, reman 6.9/7.3 engine replacement and an injection pump

Oh nice! That’s a bit more than I thought. I noticed that car-parts has used ones, around 100-200k miles for around $3000-$4000 with a one year warranty. I’d definitely be careful who I got it from but that seems like a pretty good deal considering how long they usually last.

We don’t know much. A guy in Redding got it at an auction and he decided he wanted something else.

What is the going rate, reman 6.9/7.3 engine replacement and an injection pump

I’m wondering about how much I will spend total for a reman engine and injection pump for a 6.9/7.3 parts only, not labor. Thank you for your input. Not that I’m needing anything now, I’m just curious about it.

I still need to play with the timing. The fuel consumption is awful. Like 11 mpg

I hear that! Housing market is going to come crashing down soon. North of Richmond folks are going to scoop up as much as possible once again. I can’t wait to get out of here, cali is becoming a degenerate wasteland.

Nice rig. I really like the four doors, especially the bull nose.

Yeah I plan on keeping mine. I have owned lots of different trucks from dealership new to old projects. Nothing I like more than the old fords myself. It’s nice when you know what’s been done and what’s coming up for replacement too.

Very true. California isn’t my scene anymore. Dreaming of Texas in the future.

So it’s definitely using oil. I’m going to need to add quite frequently. Do you think it’s safe to drive daily if I keep oil in it? Do you have any suggestions? I’m currently not in a good position to tear down my engine so I’m a little concerned.

Wet Black spray on ground at cold start hard throttle.

We think It was just the condensation, we tried it again today a little later in the morning when it was warmer out but it wouldn’t do it.

It didn’t do it today because I slept in. I guess it was the colder temperatures plus the throttle. Funny you guys got to hit a good target like a car or building though. His pipe is curved downwards so just the ground got it.

Engine knock on semi cold start?

I read some information on the engine flush oil treatments that spooked me. It was saying that it could cause damage to older engines and such. Would you say the idi’s are more resistant to that because of the durability? I’d like to clean things up a bit with a flush but with high mileage I’m...

Wet Black spray on ground at cold start hard throttle.

Was doing a comparison test on the engine running at 2k cold to compare timing of two 7.3 non turbo idi’s. When I hit the throttle my son said come look at this and I saw a wet black spray patch like a giant spray paint can shot the ground from the exhaust pipe. Is this normal?

At 2000 RPMs going down the road best way I can describe it as it sounds kinda like a helicopter is flying over me while going down the road. My sons 7.3 is louder, clackier lifters or whatever but doesn’t have that at all. Also this morning when I got on the main road and stepped on it I dumped...

I did the 2k test on my sons truck at cold start for comparison. His was smoother but shot out some black moisture on the ground. Nice ********* spray paint spot on the ground. Is that normal?

Ok thank you, I’ll do a video in the next day or two. The truck kinda rocks a little bit at idle and has what sounds to me like a deep engine noise at idle also, glug glug glug it’s very faint. As far as the 2k smoothness I’ll need to check that.

Based on the smoke clearing after some good throttling do you have any thoughts on the most and least likely causes? Does that information help us narrow it down a little bit?
