    Steering box adjustment

So I backed it out less than a quarter turn and it took the slop out. When I resealed it a year and a half ago I might have put it back together with the gear in not quite the same place. Went and priced out a couple new front tires, and it seems I might have to wait till I scratch a couple...

    Steering box adjustment

Yeah I didn't put them big things on. Do I back the screw out a quarter turn or screw it in? I replaced the ttb bushings, ball joints, right around when I did the steering box seals. It wouldn't hold a front end alignment.

    Steering box adjustment

I just wanted to know if I can take the slop out of my steering box with the adjustment screw. This is for the 2wd 91. I re sealed the whole thing a year and a half ago before I sold it, and it's as clean as the day I put it back in. But the kid who bought it put 265's on the front and now it's...

    FIPL sensor help

Wow. I really can't believe it was totally missing. You are going to need a couple button head bolts. Check the pigtail sitting there for the locking tabs. supposed to be 2, you can get away with one. If they are missing you're going to have to look that up on Rockauto too. Whats the ground on...

Air intrusion on 1990 7.3L f350 with banks turbo

On my 87 I have a cap that has been leaking since day 1. I replaced the cap and o rings, but it still leaks. The injector has a nick in it where the o rings are. But the fuel doesn't drain back, and my truck starts like a gasser. Looked at it today after I ran to the dump and it's wet as usual...

'91 7.3L IDI Tranny Rebuild - Stuck in 1st Gear

Was the fipl bad, or it physically wasn't there? I just replaced thr rad on my 91 with a Champion. It isn't leaking so I guess thats a good thing. I'd spend a day going over the whole truck to make sure everything is good. Wheel cylinders, brake lines, axle seals, everything.

Hey Rock, I might be in your neighborhood in a few weeks. Coming back up north for some of my tools. What area of PA are you? East or west? I could use the turbo.

    A/C r34 or upgrade? 1992 IDI 7.3L

Hey thanks. Is the receiver dryer the can looking thing on the pass side standing up? I'll bet its empty . I'd like to be able to check the pressure, or pull a vacuum. But I don't have either of those tools to do it. Anyway to see if it's holding any pressure besides undoing a connection?

    A/C r34 or upgrade? 1992 IDI 7.3L

My compressor won't even start when I turn the ac on. I read somewhere that might be caused by low oil or no refridge. I'm just worried about pressure in the system if I go to take it apart.

    A/C r34 or upgrade? 1992 IDI 7.3L

I have to do my 91 ac. Is there a seal kit that's sold? When it comes to ac, I haven't a clue. And I take it you need a special setup to pressure test?

My old truck is coming back home

I did. Should be here Monday. But I have to hold off cause I need to replace a few other things first. Emptied the radiator today, and low and behold, oil in the coolant. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Ordered oil cooler seal kit today. Plus a 3G alt with plugs. All the little things I let go before...

My old truck is coming back home

So the 91 finally got here Sat morning. Going over it I remembered a few things that I wanted to do but I had enough. Speedo cable , which I changed out this morning. I patched uo the top tank of the radiator, but it needs to be done professionally now. So as soon as I find someone that still...

My old truck is coming back home

I learned a lot on this one. One thing that I didn't care about up north but I do here is AC. I think there is a leak somewhere in the system I had it charged at a garage about 5 years ago, but it was gone in a week. So I'll definitely be asking some questions about that.

My old truck is coming back home

Back in '19 or '20, I can't remember, I sold my '91 F350 7.3 2wd Dually because I picked up the '87 6.9. I sold it to my son's friend, and now he's looking to get a Cummins or something 4x4. He hardly drove it, but did some upgrades. Here's a pic before I sold it. He's telling me the TC is...

Is a turbocharging a old diesel reliable?

I went to the pick n pull close buy and asked the guy running it about finding a turbo for my 6.9, and he told me good luck. They are like gold down here.

    TQ lock unlock clunk

Thanks for the info. I replaced the converter years ago and I'll bet the u bolts are loose. When I did the clutch on my 97 I checked the u bolts after a few months and one was super loose. What I never tried was replacining the pinion and ring gears. I'm going to have the guy check it out...
