Starting an 093 turbo install on my 91 F350

I'm pointing to it in the pic. Where the pipe mounts to the turbo. Rectangular end. Looks like a casting nub to grab or??? I can't screw around anymore just gonna cut it off.

Starting to get busy, and I need this done. Starting to hear about it. Any other things I should know? Throttle cable issues, etc?

Starting an 093 turbo install on my 91 F350

So it's in finally. Wish I would have known about having to clockboth sides to get this thing to fit. Made a call and found out that it's practically impossible to install without the pedestal on. So you live and learn. Now the new problem. The nub on the up pipe- can I cut it off. It's keeping...

Hey all. I'm getting ready to put the turbo on the pedestal. DoI use the paper gasket with the rubber 0 ring? Seems wrong. If so e one could let me know I'd appreciate it

Fuel Gauge pegged - where to start looking

That hose is just a vent. Take a look in the tank and see how much mud you have. Without the shower head on the end of the pickup tube you will run out of fuel at 1/4 tank. Well when I put the new sender w/ shower head I pulled so much crap out of the tank I clogged 3 filters to the point that...

Starting an 093 turbo install on my 91 F350

So I'm going to move the gp controller to the fender. Might as well simplify while I'm at it. Been looking at old posts and pics so it should be easy. Actually might do the White Rodgers gp controller. Looks pretty heavy duty. Still gathering up some other odds and ends then I'll get it done.

Then how do you disconnect from the ignition switch? The reason I never did it before is because my controller always worked fine. I think I replaced it when I got it in 04 just because I didn't want problems down the road. I did the gp's then too. But I'm not liking the way it looks buried...

At this point I would look into it, but I don't know what it takes to set it up. Would I use the controller, or all new parts?

Starting an 093 turbo install on my 91 F350

Nothing on the CDD site. Might have to make one. After looking of some completed turbo setups I think it would just be easier access to move it. I just don't want the truck down so long. Oh well, first world problems.:)

The more I read about it the more I feel I should relocate the gp controller. Been looking online for a bracket but can't seem to find anything. Anybody have a lead? Or just put it on the fender. Thanks

Starting an 093 turbo install on my 91 F350

I'm thinking I better put some kind of insulation on the firewall before the turbo goes in. just easier. And as far as the cdr tube I guess I'll deal with it. I'm thinking I should get the oil line that attaches to the oil filter mount cause I think I'm going to just use the oil sensor thats...

Starting an 093 turbo install on my 91 F350

So I pulled the exhaust out, cut and bent the lip on the firewall. Pulled the dipstick, etc. I removed the cdr but the old rubber or whatever it is the it connects to is still in the valley pan. Is there a way to *** that out without destroying the pan or breaking off a chunk of that old rubber...

Starting an 093 turbo install on my 91 F350

Cool thanks. So you think the braided feed line is the way to go over factory? I'm in so far now what's another couple bucks gonna be. And where would it go to the block; where the sending unit is now?

Starting an 093 turbo install on my 91 F350

So I cut out the rubber and soundproofing, and now it looks like I'll have room for everything. I seen a couple pics where the gp controller stays in it's original place. I guess I could get some thermal shielding to protect it. The way my wiring harness loops around, and with all the wiring...

The up pipe I have is locked together. I don't want to mess with it. we will see if it stays together as I go along. If I have problems with it I'll keep you in mind. Going to start pulling the exhaust off today. Need to find some kroil first, or something similar. Russ, I'll be ordering the...

Starting an 093 turbo install on my 91 F350

I'm going to need some kind of cover on the vacuum lines that are attached right where the turbo will sit. And I'm looking at a 3 pod pillar for gauges. Water temp, egt, and boost? Or does boost matter with the wastegate.

Starting an 093 turbo install on my 91 F350

I thought I seen a pic with the controller on the valve cover. I'll figure that one out. Going to have to use a catch can I reckon. Don't have an airbox. Read they were restrictive. Is it recommended to use exhaust wrap on the crossover pipe? And the motor is in so it will be fun to put...

So I picked up a used 093 turbo, downpipe, and other related parts. Not using a stock air filter- didn't come with one. I'm getting ready to dive into it and I need to know info going in so I don't have to take things apart twice. I appreciate any info. Tips or tricks( if any), so I don't spend...

Fuel Gauge pegged - where to start looking

IIRC, if the gauge reads empty, it's the sender. If full, then bad ground or grounds. Read it here a while ago.
