Hey everyone. I'm having a real hardtime finding a dipstick and tube for my 91w/093 turbo and e4od. I called ats and they said that a 99-03 7.3 powerstroke w/4r100 tranw tube should work. Found one on ebay and the guy says he shipped it. Well it never arrived and I can't find another. Does...
That's true Bronco. Once the turbo was back is it was easy to mount the up pipe to the turbo. Once that was done mounting the up pipe to the manifold was easy. And it went together smoothe with no binding. If I left that gap and tried to fill it with something like heat stop it would have blown...
I had to remove the studs on my passenger side exhaust manifold. Nothing to do with the parts I got from you. I removed everything and rei nstalled it in like 5 hours. That stud removal is something that people who are doing a turbo install should know.
So I pulled everything off in record time. Got flange studs out, bolts in and everything back together. Started her up and no leaks. Not taking any victory laps yet. Hopefully the airfilter will get here soon and I can take her for a ride.
SOB those studs have to come out. The up pipe is tightened right up to the hexes. Now I have to pull it all apart. They don't make small donuts for something like this do they?
Once it got a bit warm it spun. Not too much worried now-- it works. But the exhaust leak at the passenger manifold to the up pipe is a drag. I have to pull everything apart, or loosen it, to get the gap to close up.
For this exhaust leak, is it advisable to loosen the turbo pedestal and the exhaust flange on the turbo? I don't want to Crack anything or just go and get some furnace cement and plug it up. When I picked this up the 2 pcs of up pipe were bonded together and didn't want to mess with it. I tried...
I don't have the gauges hooked up yet. But after it warmed up the turbo now spins at idle. I found an exhaust leak where the passenger side manifold attaches to the up pipe . Have to wait till it cools to loosen and retighten the bolts.
So success! I hadto charge the batteries to get it to turn over. But she started with no fuel leaks. No as a turbo newb, is the turbo supposed to spin at idle? When I installed the turbo I had to clock both sides to get itto fit. Now I'm wondering if the waste gate is open at idle. So first...
Can anyone confirm if a banks dipstick tube will work with my 093 turbo setup? Can't seem to find one anywhere. I know hypermax has something but I don't know if it's specific to hypermax. TIA
Don't know just yet. I seen a few on Amazon, but really haven't searched. I don't like the way the cdr is angled forward. Doesn't seem like it's conducive to draining.
So I have took care of a few more items and I think I can see the finish line. Turbo is set, and plumbed the oil feed to the block. Put the new replacement turbo glow plug wiring in, moved the gpc to the fender. new return kit. I broke the tps while laying across the motor, so I need to get one...
Don't know about the banks, But for the Ats I had to cut the nub off the pipe, cut a pc off the trans, and tenderize the firewall. Just too tight feeding up the pipe.
