    Carrick customs has a really nice a/c bracket but it is for the serpentine style compressor. As far as an adaptor plate I’m assuming it’s the same as a zf5 one because the bolt holes are the same and you don’t need to change anything when you go from c6 to zf5 on and idi anyways.     After further investigation it absolutely destroyed the passenger spindle. Pretty pissed off at myself for not catching it sooner. I think my best option is swapping the guts out of this axle into my old one.

    I put a new U joint in. I jacked it up to spin everything just to make sure everything is good. The passenger side nut that holds the hub/spindle on backed off and absolutely destroyed one of the bearings!!! I have no idea what I did wrong.     Yeah like if I was genuinely looking for a good car to BUY I definitely wouldn’t have bought a beetle but it was too good a deal to pass up. It’s one of those things that I’m not gonna waist my time on if it starts to do stupid crap like what you just said.

    Today I bought my first car. A 2003 VW Beetle, it was 500$ Because it wouldn’t pass smog and literally needed spark plugs. I don’t mind that I look like a moron in it because the old 6.9 isn’t really as enjoyable to drive every single day when fuel is 4.75 a gallon.

    I helped my friend go get this weird engine with a bunch of wires and sensors so he can spend money to make it slow. Just like we do, but with less sensors.

    Got everything cleaned up. Took the cover off and found that the gears look fantastic. Got some seals and stuff coming now and we should be good. For a long time I’ve wanted to do disc brakes on the rear but I’ve read alot of mixed emotions so I guess I’ll just stick with drums.

    This morning I helped my grandad take out some old fence that we will be re doing. Then after that I took a lovely 4 hour drive. I enjoy this thing quite a lot.
