Well, obviously I never take pictures of my idi project. But trust me I have done stuff to it. I figured I’d let y’all know that for some reason we decided to buy a 6.0. Definitely a step up in power from my previous vehicles.
That’s awesome. I talked to a guy when I picked it up with a cool story. Supposedly his grandfather sold their old tractor to the farm that was having the auction, back in the 80’s. The grandson got the opportunity to buy the tractor back. Kinda cool
Nothing to do with the truck, but I won this 1941 farmall H on a whim from an online auction. A guy pretty close by sold his hay operation and they had an auction for all the equipment. Low and behold, this old girl was sitting behind an almost brand new 4x4 Case. I learned to drive on one of...
Hopefully you’re not spending much time outside of Elko….. heard there’s a nice ranch out there LOL
I’ll clarify that I’ve never personally partaken in that type of visitation but it sure is funny to imagine the type of person who drives all that way for something like that LOL
We have carpet. I was so unhappy with how my aftermarket carpet fit I went and bought a nicer blue carpet from a truck somebody was parting out. Had it cleaned super well. Has some fading over the transmission hump but I’m not worried about it.
Yeah I’m a moron and discovered them after I used one on my ranger. It’s so nice not having a ton of wiring. I’ll have a separate relay/fuse box for a key on power relay, fuel pump, and I really want to wire in a relay for max voltage to the blower motor for the high speed setting.
No pics of the process but it took an afternoon. Took the seat tracks all apart and cleaned out all the old grease. On the drivers side I sprayed lithium grease in the tracks and on the passenger side I just smeared whatever was in my grease gun on the tracks. Holy crap I wish I used the grease...
If you are wondering about the campers in the background. We (my family) bought a few acres outside of town, have to re do the house (my parents). I am going to build something at some point, not sure what. Permits suck in California . More than likely will just plead the 5th on my housing...
What have I done since the last post? Mostly cleaned out my barn and tried to get rid of the rest of the parts truck. Tonight I threw the bumper from the parts truck on here. Gonna try my best to do the brake lines. I made a full list of what I need to finish today at work and thought, holy...
No pictures yet but I swapped the dash harness from the “new” truck into my old blue dash. I love how many wires there are, for like 5 things. I’m going to run the wire from the fuel selector switch to a relay for the fuel pump. I think that will be pretty slick and kind of a safety thing. Since...
Also! My wonderful girlfriend purchased me a Caravan camper shell. These are made fairly close to me (and some of you are probably familiar) in Reno. I’ve wanted one forever.
I would like to say that after taking a brief hiatus due to life I guess, working on old trucks is refreshing and stressful at the same time. I love that there are so few wires, but I hate how there are no relays or more than 1 fuse panels LOL
Blowing diesel designs. It’s very user friendly. They work great on my bullnose frame, just have to drill more holes than an obs frame. I like that they are stock height buckets so everything can work as stock.
No sir so this is an 80’s frame with 05+ axles and suspension. You are correct that it follows the frame, but that is not a huge concern for me at this point in time.
Installing this 05+ swap kit. Better geometry than my stock stuff I had used. It would’ve been fine but I was bored on Black Friday. I will get them powder coated after I get all the holes drilled. I’m hoping to have this frame out at my house by the weekend.
