Im stuck. I have to pull some pins to get the new part in. I dont have that puller tool. Got a mobil mechanic scheduled for tomorrow.
This could not have happened at a worse time. I'm in the middle of my house renovation and use my truck almost every day to bring stuff home from the hardware...
My ignition actuator broke. I youtoobed a couple of videos. Looked easy enough. Im 3 hrs into my column and am not making much headway. Plus some parts fell out and I have no clue where they go. Anyone have a pic of where things go? If not what years trucks can i get a column out of at picapart...
I have not heard of that company. But every copper radiator i have seen lately has been junk. Better off having a shop recore yours. Im on my 3rd champion one.
Naw. Wont be plugged. Bad fuel is extremely rare these days.maybe a winter blend or a tank of hot diesel? Thats when the tanker hauled gas then loaded with Diesel. Dilutes the diesel with gas
When you retrofit to r134a from r12 you use 15% less refrigerant. This corrolates to an orifice thats 15% smaller than the stock blue one. The orange one is the best choice.
I just saw the engine swap part. Since the engine is older than the truck its not a legal swap. Has to be the same year or newer. Maybe you can get away with telling the smog ref that its a 1990 engine since most are clueless? If not you wont be able to register it in California.
OT: any...
No smog for our trucks ( yet). They will have you weight it then charge you by the pound to register it. Wait till you find out what registration costs! My 87 F 250 is now $340/ year!
OK I got one with a light. All the glows checked out OK. Had O'Riley's bring out a controller. It didn't look anything like mine, looked more like the stratosphere in Vegas.
Same with vatozone and crappa.
Gave up on getting a new one today. Called a friend that used to have an idi. He has a junk...
Got the 1/2 second flash instead if a steady on gp light. Tested them with a test light using the positive battery terminal one at a time and they all lit up the test light. I have in the past eliminated the electrical connection on the fender that burns up. Bad controller?
I'm still running the pump my truck was born with. Does what I need it to do. They have a weep hole that is supposed to let you know if it's failing, assuming its not plugged with 30 yrs of grease.
When retrofitting to r134a you use 15% less refrigerant. You should also use an orifice that's 15% smaller. The orange tube is very close to this if you removed a blue tube.
You my also need to adjust your cycling switch to go off @ 20, on @40.
