i live @3100ft. We went to about 7000ft. But we make this trip often and this was the first time I had trouble. I dont see anything wet around the filter.
Sunday we were in the mountains and the truck started running bad. Acted like I was running out of fuel. I switched tanks and it cleared up. We stopped for lunch and the truck started and died. I thought maybe it still had air in it somewhere. Drove home fine. Went to leave for work this morning...
When I bought my truck in 12 I also bought 1 brand new Borg Warner injector from orileys. My plan was to use it if any of mine ever act up far away from home. I figured it would be better than nothing. It's still in my toolbox.
Kinda like carrying spare parts. You never need them but if you...
The expensive one oriley sells is junk too. The cheap one has been working for me 2 years now. Should probably go to picapart and pick up a couple original ones. Ford used that regulator for decades.
I had 2 of the wide 2R ones from them. Both leaked. One from a weld, the 2nd from somewhere in the core. Both had a lifetime warranty. Now they sent me a 3R with smaller tubes but no more warranty.
Mine had a wheel lock up when the lining on a shoe came off the web and was getting jammed when I used the brakes. My parking brake has always worked great.
Mine has a washer between the 2 adjusting nuts that has holes in it. There is a pin sticking out of the inner nut that must go onto a hole in the washer.
I just had to replace that actuator piece. AutoZone stocks it for $6. It's an absolute pain in the ass to change. As soon as we carefully pulled the pins for the tilt the entire tilting part with springs behind it blew apart. Took almost an entire weekend for 2 of us to put it back together. You...
My 68 scout was a factory 266/4 speed scout. This was before the internet and i could not find a piston for it. I stuffed a great running 345 in it. That was a sweet scout then!
Finally got it! ( I think). The tilt part blew apart as soon as we took the pins out. Then the part of it that looks like the moon was stuck under something it should have been on top of. Also fought the steering wheel lock and gear on the back of the tumbler for over an hour!
Whoever designed this needs to be shot. No wonder so many people hate Ford's. Im into it 3 hrs and the mobile guy 2 and we are no closer than I was Friday. Plus now its heating up fast. I expect him to call it quits soon.
I knew that gm used this design and now i know ford did. I wonder who thought this was a good idea? Why not put the switch right behind the key like they do on todays stuff? My 78 Toyota had the switch behind the key and was easy to repair.
