    You could put mud in a 4 speed and be golden. I've drained ATF out of them before. Thinner the oil the easier it will shift but the louder it will be. I don't really recommend anything thinner than 15-40 because it will have a hard time splashing any oil. Also remember engine oil and gear oils...

    The original 6.9 in the farm truck's rings were so stuck that the bores were glazed a light brown. Granted it had 220-230k on it and it sat about 6 years before I bought it and I only ran it on WMO. It spun a bearing and I just had To look at the bores. Should have taken a picture.

    turbo intake manifold

    Use an awl, center punch, ice pick or something along those lines to PUNCH the holes. A drill bit will make shavings of small steel that you can't get out, easily. Punch as many holes as you'd like, you should be able to pour a quart of oil through it with no back up

    They can really really suck to put on and get off. I use a piece of air line for the "bushing" and a small ish Harris pin in the groove to hold it on. Seems to work pretty good so far on 2 of my trucks now

    From what I hear, common rails are not too WMO friendly. They say with the high pressure and thick fuel that it blows the injector tips in a hurry.

    The push-in pins gets loose and worn on the back of the gauges to the instrument cluster from vibrations. I had an 88' do the same thing and turned out to be them. If you know what I'm talking about

    Keep playing with the VRV until it's where you like it. I've set them to factory specs and have had the same thing happen. I just keep adjusting it until it's mild mannered and mark it. Then when I'm towing a trailer I move it to where it shifts late. Helps keep the rpms up while towing

    The diesel 2 belt pulley is different, the vacuum pump drive part (the outer V) is slightly smaller inside. If you look at the pulley with out the belts you'll see what I mean

    ..... It even says zf on the bottle.... I'd run it and smile at saving $50-$70 and dump a quart of the old stuff in when you fill up. You could put a paper towel on a funnel and "strain" it that way if that makes you feel better

    If it stayed cool and ran good the whole way out 422 to Ohio if say your cooling system isn't that terrible. There's some pretty good pulls on that road. Yes penn view is about 25 miles past the 422 exit on 22, the home farm is on the top.

    I had one in an 88 crew cab. I was impressed with it right til the day I sold it. Can't put one in my farm truck, it has the wrong core support. How'd it pull penn view? Or did you go up 422?
