Well you have the advantage of 2wd and an automatic Elijah, haha! Plus my 5sp needs new syncros so it doesn't always like to shift quickly. Thats on another list of things to do, haha! But hey I'd be up for going to a drag strip as long as the wheel hop on mine isn't too crazy with the new found...
The turbo is the one he had in stock. I checked and it is a .89 a/r exhaust housing which is the tightest T4 housing they offer.
Yeah, I'm using the hypermax mounting system, but I am planning on adapting my headers to the the hypermax up pipes.
At the moment I'm not going to run an...
Thanks, it's been something I've been saving for and wanting to do for many years. It just kept getting postponed due to life getting in the way, haha!
Which is why I got this bad boy Needless to say moose boost was always a plan later down the road so I had already gotten an upgrade kit from mel over the winter. So that's where I'm at right now, slowly trying to get everything assembled and in the truck just in time to make a trip to Kentucky...
I then proceed to remove the old front axle and install my new one that I had already replaced the pivot bushings, ball joints, and u joints inI then installed my new stop tech slotted rotors and EBC brake pads along with new Timken wheel bearings and seals. Now I finally was ready to move onto...
Well I guess since I have a little time tonight it'sa good time to show everyone what I'vebeen working on and how it has morphed along the way. A little back story is I have an 86 F-250 extended cab that I had repainted a number of years back. It has a 6.9L and a 5sp that I swapped in to replace...
What does redhead recommend? I couldn't find anything in the papers that came with mine. Then again I've had my redhead waiting to be installed for a while.
So I'm in the process of replacing my steering box and powersteering pump on my 85 F-250. My questions is my 86 calls for type F atf in the powersteering, but my brothers 97 F-250 calls for Mercon atf. I'm just wondering if one is better than the other or if it even matters since everything is...
Yep, Corey's idit had rings that were wore very hard, especially in the center 4 bores. The outter 4 bores could have been rerung, but the inner 4 were pretty worn. I believe it was .006in over the max allowed and they were egg shaped. But I got it back from the machine shop after a .020...
So are you happy with how quick it spools, or would you go one size tighter on the exhaust turbine housing? I am almost positive I'm getting one now, but it all depends how much I spend on this rebuild.
Well I sold my stock hypermax turbo so it looks like I'll be upgrading as well. I'm curious to see how you like it, and I'm really excited to see it in person!
I posted to for Missy on Facebook, but as of now it is Chris, Miranda, and I from our crew. Matt and his gf were going to come, but he may have some other stuff that came up with. So 3 on our end.
I think a freind of mine has a valve spring checker. I'll have to have him see what the pressures are on the old springs just for curiosity sake. @typ4 do you believe the weak springs allowed the lifters to pump up and cause this?
I have a factory turbo flex plate, spacer, ring, and bolts as well. I'm putting it in a 5sp truck so if you need a flexplate just let me know, I'd be willing to part with it. And yes the engine is verified as a factory turbo motor.
