The 15psi is pump output after the filters. I'm actually reading it from the gauge port on the side of the Fass systems regulator. The 1-2psi is after my second regulator. I debated on getting the 10psi spring and maybe trying to tweak it some.
Well the second attempt at the fuel system went better, but I need some advice. I reinstalled the rebuilt pump and now have 15psi at the pump and it primes on its own so that part is fixed. Now I have a deadhead regulator on the engine to cut the pressure to the 7psi limit, but with the engine...
So a little update on my progress. While my Fass pump is out getting repaired I started on modifying my downpipe to fit with the headers. I also welded a v-band clamp to the joint of the upper and lower downpipe since I always hate when you can't get the slip fit to come apart again. Then...
Well a little update on my slow progress. I finally got it running for a minute or so just to make sure all my wiring was good and yeah I wanted to hear her purr too . Problem was I had trouble getting my Fass pump to prime and when it did it only made 2psi max. So now that I'm back from a...
The studs in the actual kit are a hair shorter than the bulk studs to keep them from contacting the rocker guides. Either can be used. Typ4 has been selling the bulk studs long before arp had an actual kit.
I believe russ had told me you wanted .030in clearance minimum. He also told me you can advance or retard the cam 1 tooth if needed to get the proper clearance.
Pretty sure its impossible to get fuel out the injector lines without cranking the engine. That being said I would let the fuel pump run a little bit and then try firing it. I just put an electric fuel pump on my truck and after I switched my pump to the new engine I was surprised I didn't have...
Here is what I did. All I had to make was the short tube from the intake to the turbo. I used an obs psd battery tray as well to give me two of the mounts for the intake. @Thewespaul
@laserjock also installed the same turbo on his banks platform, but he got a turbo with a t3 housing instead of the t4 divided like heath, elijah, and I got. I think it saved him some adapting, but he had an exhaust leak in the up pipes and some motor issues. He has a build thread on here too...
I've been slowly making a little progress on my truck in between work, house work, and just life in general. I got the obs powerstroke intake mounted up tonight. Well except for welding a bracket fast to the tube. It was a little late to be welding in the shop. I plan to finish that tomorrow and...
Well I got an AFE locally. Thanks for everything. It actually fits in there really well and should make life easier and save me quite a bit of with plumbing it to my turbo.
Yep, I'm working on installing mine now. Progress has been a little slow on my personal project cause I'm changing many other things besides just adding the moose boost kit. My thread is "project black stallion" and @no mufflers is "project watch out Kentuckians"
Mainly the air box or heat sheilding whatever you call it, but I think the intake tube can be made to work very easily too. I've been measuring my brothers on his powerstroke and it looks pretty much like a bolt in, but I don't want to buy a new one just incase I'm wrong and it doesn't fit.
I can fab something up, but was kinda looking for a kit to make my life a little easier and quicker. I'm personally not a huge fan of the 6637 mod. I want something that looks a little cleaner than that.
I'm looking for a used obs intake for a 7.3 that is in decent shape. I've been throwing around the idea of making one fit my idi. Let me know whatcha got and how much you want!
Does Banks do like ATS and have you remove the studs and just use 7/16in bolts? Just a thought. Also for the balancer I've used a balancer installer. They are relationship cheap and take the worry out of doing that again.
