    Waste Transformer Oil

So an sds sheet I found says it's flash point is greater than 300c and when it burns it brakes down to CO, CO2, silica dioxide. Which isn't to bad. Should not have pcb's in it.

    Aviation oils?? For wmo fuel

Turbine oil is great, thin. Piston engine oil pretty thick. Just needs a lot of thinning. Blending with gas causes some pretty good smoke. Piston aviation oil is an "ashless dispersant" which means it should burn cleanly, but doesn't always. It's got lower hours but depends on the fuel...

    Thinning vs heating before centrifuging?

Gas is what I mainly use to thin with. It does do good and trucks start easy with a right blend. Lot of my stuff has been settling for long time and preblended.

    Thinning vs heating before centrifuging?

Added another barrel of thinning fuel to the current tote I am processing. Total volume 330gal now with heat off. Definitely pulling more sludge out. Similar amount to heating to 70f from 45f. Found some interesting online calculators. One is for boilers and other is more generic water...

What waste oil makes the best fuel

Thin oil I also good to think about. Atf is thin, lots of detergents, low autoignition temps. Gasoline wmo is usually thinner then truck oil. Hydraulic is usually clean and thinnish also. My order is atf, turbine oils, hydraulic, gas wmo, diesel wmo, aircraft piston wmo, last manual...

    Waste Transformer Oil

Yep my buddy is getting a sample for me to do a test with as well as they are testing it to see what is in it. I just don't know about burning silicon based oils. Will it but completely? This is some.info I found. http://www.siliconerecycling.com/recycling-of-silicone-transformer-oil/

Anyone know anything about silicone transformer oil and if it would be good for fuel?

    Thinning vs heating before centrifuging?

Yep I have one of those and the that came with my centrifuge. Different design but same thing. I am trying to think of ways to use less electricity. But if it filters way faster then might worth just paying for the electricity.

    Thinning vs heating before centrifuging?

Well found the limit to my heater was about 25-30degrees. Started a new batch of wmo. Prethinned and ran it for about a week cleaning every 24hr and was getting about the same amount out each time. Ambient temps are low today at 35f but around 45 past fuel weeks. With the heater it was able to...

    Wmo and injectors tips

I have not heard or seen anything about one being better then the other for wmo unfortunately.

I do the burn test also. Good to know it's at least burnable haha

    Centrifuge first run with pictures

Seconded that Hydraulic and tractor fluid should be really clean. It's not exposed to combustion by-products so really no "engine sludge." Some batches are cleaner then others. Have to see what comes out of each one and see how dirty it is. Nice score!

Kerosene is cheaper than diesel. How much can I add to WMO?

Kerosene is drier then diesel so it will need lubrication added. But should run great, maybe a little less power, cause less btuthen benchmark(diesel). It will also thin wmo better the diesel sense it is lower specific gravity & viscosity. It's between blending with gas and diesel.

    Thinning vs heating before centrifuging?

Yah maybe 1/4cup. It was denser then some sludge had to scrape it out with my scraper instead of my spatula

    Thinning vs heating before centrifuging?

So I have been running a thinned batch through the fuge and not getting much. Over two days got trace amounts of sludge pulled out. Well just did 24hr run with the heater on set at 70f. Totes actually insulates pretty well and then temp came up pretty fast really. Centrifuges heated up like it...

    Jesus Freaks WMO thread!

Summer or winter blends for me is dictated by how the truck starts cold and without a block heater. If it fires right up at 32f then I know it will work well. If it struggles to start then more thinning agent goes in. Also key things I listen for are: is my turbo spooling up like it does with...

    Thinning vs heating before centrifuging?

@SkylabTech86IDI https://usfiltermaxx.com/en/content/9-make-black-diesel This is a good write up by usfiltermaxx on blending and wmo methodology. Have to see what your truck likes and work up the wmo ratio. I blend to have similar viscosity as diesel. Ideally you would have blends similar...

    Thinning vs heating before centrifuging?

Wmo for me. I blend with gas so I really don't want to boil the gas out. My understanding for centrifuging was to lower the viscosity, which could be done by heat or thinning. Wonder if it would be better blend after centrifuging with heat. But it would definitely increase the kilowatts...

    Thinning vs heating before centrifuging?

I haven't used my heater in a long time because I have been thinning my oil before centrifuging. I had a batch this summer in the warm weather. Got a bunch of sludge out. It was thinned and warmer then 60f. Hot hot weather. I am wondering if even thinned being warmer made that much of...

Any one running wmo in a toyota 1kz engine?

I thin all my fuel for a single tank system and had good success but you have to see what your engine likes. In theory the dual tank would let you run higher percent wmo blends the single tank. Cleaning the oil is really important for longevity of components.

Any one running wmo in a toyota 1kz engine?

Agreed with Jesus freak. Start with baby steps and work up from there. Also have fun with it, cause it is you can tailor it to your situation. Electrically controlled injection looks like it just doesn't use a direct connection from the accelerator peddle to the injection pump. It is still...

    VE 12V starting

My 97 dodge with ppump cranks for a while on diesel and starts easier of my blend but I usually use a tiny pedal input and it is quick to life. If I take the pedal away on blend then it idles to low and is rough or dies. Idle might be set to low when cold. I have a wood dowel that I put on the...
