MB OM617 powered Wrangler or VW TD powered Sidekick?

Take a moment to scan the thread and take a look at my Jeep. It's no rock crawler, but it does okay for one of the dreaded overlanders! It's a daily driver, in fact my wife drives it and I drive the F-250. The Suzuki will be a daily driver as well...

MB OM617 powered Wrangler or VW TD powered Sidekick?

What I need is primarily and over the road vehicle with good off road capabilities. Here are two examples of sidekick or tracker builds first one is extensive buildup and the second is more likely something like I would do with the notable difference of a VW idit engine...

    Betsy the Worktruck

When I was doing VW and Porsche cars I primarily used VDO. In my current truck I have Auto Meter I'm pretty happy with them as far as the accuracy goes. However they tend to fog up a bit too much for what is supposed to be a quality gauge. I believe that isapro is also a high-quality gauge and...

    Project Big Blue

No guessing from me. I'm very interested though, as this is basically Raylan minus the big exhaust, 60-1 upgrade, 910 springs, port clean up, cranked up baby moose, injectors and unplugged waste gate. Is it getting an intercooler?

Do you have head studs? Even without, I think you'd be safe to turn the fuel up a bit to 14-15 PSI or so. if not, and you want to trade Junior for a baby, I'd be happy to oblige;)

One other thing I'll mention. It seems that you are relatively new to the oil burners community. We are relatively unique in that everyone sticks together and helped each other. The members that have businesses surrounding our IDI trucks can be counted on to go the extra mile to help you out...
