Won’t restart after sitting for 30 minutes

I had a similar problem awhile back. Truck would start cold. If ran until warmed up, would crank back up if immediately cranked after shutting off. But if you let it sit for about 30 or so minutes, would not crank until truck completely cooled back off. I thought was injector pump, did cool...

A light in the dash I didn't know I had came on today

I agree.. change fuel filter. If that doesn’t work, and your fuel filter light starts coming on at idle when you aren’t pressing on pedal..do yourself a favor and have a lift pump sitting by.

    New Problem

I am going to do my best to explain this new issue. Today while driving my truck seemed to drastically loose power, then it would immediately return. Tach would drop, then rise. For lack of better terms, maybe surge? Crazy thing was, at idle the tach would drop to near zero..but the engine...

Batteries read 12.7 but slow cranks

I recently had a similar issue. Truck would crank fine cold. If ran for awhile, then shut off..then crank right after shutdown, would start fine. Let sit for 30 minutes to an hour…and would not crank like it had weak batteries. Thought it was injector pump going out. Turned out starter was weak...

    Need Some Help

All, thank you for all the reply’s and help. I thought I would follow back up and let everyone know how things turned out. I tried the cool water test over the injection pump with no result. Which made me wonder if it was the pump giving me the problem. So, I ended up putting a Powermaster...

    Need Some Help

So, I have something that I can’t get figured out. My truck has been having difficulties starting lately. Once cranked. It runs fine. Turn it off immediately and then crank…starts quick. Turn it off let it sit for 30 minutes or so, won’t start. Let it sit a few hours. Starts after a few cranks...

    Fuel Leak at Lift Pump

Thanks guys for the help. IDIBronco, I don’t believe I cross threaded the nut. When I discovered leak I snugged it up a bit just to make sure it was tight enough, and it still leaked. I might try to unthread it and reattach it later this afternoon just to make sure it is attached correctly.

    Fuel Leak at Lift Pump

All, A week ago I had another lift pump fail on me. That one was a Carter and lasted about a year. Luckily I had already ordered a Motercraft and had it on stand by. Installed the new pump…now I have a fuel leak at the connector to the lift pump. Are the fuel connector lines from the filter to...

    Idler Pulley/ Serpentine Belt

https://photos.app.goo.gl/uwGRzbJVESuZh8ds8 All, I am looking for a solution to the serpentine belt moving back and forth on the Idler Pulley. I have already had the belt slip off twice. This is a new pulley/bearing. Any suggestions? It is moving back and forth and towards slipping more than I...

    Oil leak at Lift pump?

https://parts.lakelandford.com/testimonials.aspx I put a Carter in my truck as a replacement recently...it is working fine. I also ordered a Ford pump from the provided site link...while I can't attest to where it was manufactured..it appears a true Ford replacement, though a little pricy. Just...

Another lift pump lets me down.

My lift pump recently failed. I put in a Carter which seems to be doing ok. I was able to purchase an actual Ford pump as well from https://parts.lakelandford.com/testimonials.aspx If the Carter gives trouble, I have the Ford on standby.

Does anyone make IDI crate engines?

I purchased a "turn key" 7.3 IDI from one of the big name remanufactures mentioned in this thread. I have put 14,000 on that engine since installment. A few issues that have occured...the thermostat stuck closed at approximately 7,000 miles...idler pulley bearing went out around 10,000 miles...
