Latest bit worth reporting... so Mogs are slow. Gearing limited. Not only slow, but zero power. Stock for the longest time was 90 hp. That got bumped to 110 with a pump tweak. Rob: Thanks for the vid! Had not seen that one. The SEE mog was near the very last 406s made and built like tanks to do combat engineering. They carry a lot of extra mass. I would bet had they had an AG tire (rather than a .mil tire), they would have made it up that muddy hill. Mogs off road are...- tadd

Mike then shot two coats of SPI primer on the tank and mounts. He did an amazing paint job! Nothing left to do but bolt it to the truck. Painful cause it looks so nice compared to the rest of the truck! And as I am sure he will point out, I did put a few scratches in it. Cussing and crying...- tadd

So the last of the big project that are almost currently completed was replacing the fuel tank. If you look close at the square tank in the last pic of the first post, it was crunched when I bought it. Winters salt most likely wasn't kind and it started a slow drip most likely due to crevice...- tadd

Unfortunately, there wasn't any sort of tow hitch on the truck... and whats the point of having a truck if you can't tow (abet slowly in a mog). The rear has a set of implement hooks designed to use accessories developed by Case. Cranes, ditch diggers, hoe etc. I thought the lower hooks looked...- tadd

So the mog is an interesting truck. Post WWII, the germans were starved for materials to build stuff. The first Unimogs were the 411 series IIRC, and they are tiny things, about the size of a VW rabbit truck. Farmers could not afford to have both a tractor and a truck to haul to market, so what...- tadd
