    TE06H Rebuild Banks Sidewinder 24010 TE06H

My plan is to static balance everything with the razor blade trick. Run it easy for a few weeks or months and check oil pressure constantly. The problem is no one with a VSR capable balancing machine is willing to run a eBay or home rebuild turbo unless they’re the ones rebuilding it. I don’t...

    TE06H Rebuild Banks Sidewinder 24010 TE06H

On the darker turbine wheel you can see the dremel marks where they removed material during the initial static balancing tests. Pretty cool Here’s the problem. When I took it apart I forgot to follow the step in the first tear down video… where the compressor side and turbine side wheels are...

    TE06H Rebuild Banks Sidewinder 24010 TE06H

yes the very large snap ring on the compressor side is the only thing holding the compressor housing on. Once you pull the snap ring off, the compressor side housing will come off if you have someone pick up the hot side, and use a dead blow hammer around the compressor side. About 10 whacks and...

    TE06H Rebuild Banks Sidewinder 24010 TE06H

Got this far tonight working on separating from the center assembly. There’s a snap ring that’s holding the compressor side on. Needs to soak overnight with penetrating oil.

    TE06H Rebuild Banks Sidewinder 24010 TE06H

This Banks Sidewinder TE06H came off of a non-running motor on a parts truck (check my previous threads). I am following eatont9999’s videos on YouTube And he is actively responding to comments please give his channel a view and his videos some likes because they’re helpful to a guy going in...

    TE06H Rebuild Banks Sidewinder 24010 TE06H

This thread is for the Banks Sidewinder Gen 2 Wastegated Te06H Mitsubishi turbo rebuild. I’m rebuilding this turbo because I don’t have money to pay someone else to do it and the compressor wheel looks badly damaged. Doesn’t scrape the sides and spins freely but the compressor wheel ate...

Extremely helpful advice - thanks. I’ll keep at it. It’s immediately evident why loosening the pulley bolts would make a such a difference, especially after slipping off so many times myself. The following morning after reinstalling my fan and driving my truck to school, I shut the truck...

Regarding an initial problem with removing the fan clutch nut from the water pump pulley assembly bolts, I ran into a problem where the fan clutch nut rounded off over and over. I used a rented tool with the assortment of the fork wrenches. *I believe the fan nut spins off counter clockwise...

Ok, thanks for the breakdown IDIBronco. Duration vs lift constraints make sense. I will publish what info I gather from this cam that I can, and publish it here as a reference and maybe we as a community can keep this shared info in our pockets, if any of it turns out to be useful. Meaning...

An assumption based on level of involvement, is all. I could be completely wrong here. You know what they say out of assuming… not looking to make an a** of myself. The main focus here is supposed to be would be how do I tell if can I pulled out is a non-stock cam??

What I meant was if it’s only running head bolts, then it is unlikely that PO put an upgraded cam in.
