E4od dead time for a rebuild need some input

Last week while on the return trip home from camping the e4od in the wife's 94 turbo decided to commit suicide... Trans overheated and started puking oil out of the dipstick which actually ignited on the exhaust and started a small fire that I quickly got put out. Pulling the trans Sunday if I...

Added another IDI to the fleet

Hey now don't knock the gas beater lol. Saves short tripping my diesels if I need to run somewhere quick and close, and I'd rather rack up the miles on it commuting to work a short distance away. I'm not a car guy really at all unless it's got a v8 lol so I got a couple beater commuter trucks...

Added another IDI to the fleet

My two are in the second driveway, got my buddies boat and my 6.0 is beside the boat. Definitely the cleanest IDI we got mine are both pretty rough lol

Added another IDI to the fleet

Picked up this 94 IDI turbo for the wife tonight. E4od shifts the nicest out of any I've owned or drove. Needs some minor fixes but really solid truck. Ain't a rocket like my 6.0 PSD but has a hell of a lot more get up and go than my two 6.9's

    idi vs psd question

My 6.9's would beat my 6.0 powerstroke off the line but probably wouldn't get much more than a truck length on the 6.0 before the turbo spools and it's at 90mph before the 6.9 hits 45 mph. I could pull almost two truck lengths from a stop against my buddy's 95 7.3 with my N/A 6.9 then the psd...

    Are the idi's worth keeping?

Love my two 6.9'd will never get rid of them. I recently purchased a f350 CCSB 6.0 for hauling the camper, doing the heavy hauls and needed a crew cab to get the family around. The power and updated interior is also nice in the newer trucks but since I fell in love with my king ranch seats I'm...

Picked up a 6.0 loving it so far

Switched to 5-40 synthetic and changed everything but the front/rear diff oil three days after purchase last week. Going to install the espar this week and I will be fully ready for whatever the brutal canadian winter decides to throw my way

Picked up a 6.0 loving it so far

Espar is a diesel fired heater like a webasto. Headlights were just dirty in pic, have since washed truck and they are fairly clear.

Picked up a 6.0 loving it so far

Since my two 6.9 IDI's are in need of engine rebuilds and other work I picked up this 6.0 to replace my f150 5.4 that was totalled off. No more overloading the half ton! 2004 F350 King Ranch CCSB 275,000km on it. Truck has the 4 captain chairs and dual center consoles. Arp headstuds, sinister...

    Gas to diesel conversion questions

So I made a deal on a 1990 f350 single cab 11ft deck tonight that had a 460 in it. I was originally going to just take the deck and zf5 off if it for my 86 f250 2wd but having over a million miles on it the body and every suspension part is shot. The cab is rough on the F350 but have an extra...

    Turbo kits

So next month or so I'm going to be adding a turbo to one of my 6.9's. If a guy were to go new what kit would be the best way to go? Looking at new hypermax and banks kits, I drive minimal 100km in a day down highway/gravel, hauling a trailer 2000-16000lbs depending on load regularly and do a...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Took the stack off my 2wd two weeks ago to haul the truck camper, finally got around to throwing a tailpipe on until the new stack and flatdeck go on. Noticed my IP is getting hotter than normal and isn't performing 100% so looks like that's next. My engine needs to show up for my 06 F150 so I...

    30 miles on the batteries?

My alternator quit when I was up at hunting camp 500km from home, charged batteries with the gas generator and charger, boosted it and made it the whole way home without any issues. Mind you I was only running the radio and did not turn the truck off when refuelling

200 Electric start shaft driven, not too familiar with the yamaha's this is my first, got a hoard of Hondas but finally expanded the collection

    Milly the million miler build

So in the end it would most likely be easiest to build my 2wd into my 4x4 toy and leave the TTB in my current 4x4 and use that one for my DD? I'm all for a challenge but with doing a diesel transplant into the wife's 78 bronco, building the wife's 87 5.0l up for her, doing the mechanical side of...
