    You mentioned that the oil was over full. Did you recently pull the engine, had it been running with low compression? If you've been running it recently with a mechanical fuel pump be aware that the OE style mechanical fuel pumps have been known to pump diesel into the crankcase.

    I only have a Cheater's guide for my Bullnose truck. It mentions you can install the fuel filter dry and the IP and mechanical fuel pump will fill the filter. As you found out, it takes forever to fill the filter by cranking the engine. :frustrate

    Do you have a mechanical fuel pump? If so, it might be a good idea to keep an eye on your engine oil level until you solve the Fuel Filter light. The old mechanical fuel pumps have been known to fail and pump diesel into the crankcase. I had this happen to me multiple times.-cuss

    You could check Summit Racing and Jegs for cable ends and ball studs. Maybe you could remove the OE ball from the throttle arm and install an aftermarket one?

    No, I had always thought a flame thrower exhaust kit would be cool on my 71 Oldsmobile, but I've never installed one. For my Bullnose truck I'm not into the "rolling coal" thing. I don't want my EGTs to get too high. Plus, in the dream it's the forest that's on fire, not me or my Bullnose truck. :)
