Here's the new engine. Did the oil pan gasket...no play in the rods. Engine turns as it should. Cleaning it up a bit and doing the valve cover gaskets and exhaust manifold gaskets, obv.- Marcus Metz

I have no way of knowing how old the weld repair is or who did it or how many miles are on it. And being that they elected to do a terrible looking job of welding that block to rebuild upon it instead of just getting a different block...and then having sold the truck... I found another engine pulled and ready ago that that supposedly runs for $350 bucks that was listed just allegedly pulled out of a truck that was just wrecked and includes all wiring and bolt-ons. I think I'm just going to buy it and swap the turbo kit from the other engine onto it so I know...- Marcus Metz

I've been advised that doing any welding on the block at this point is dangerous because i risk warping internal things especially the cylinder sleeves, and that all I can really do is grind the rust off/grind some grooves into it and rub some block weld goop on it for good measure and run it as...- Marcus Metz

Axle code for the E350 is E2 - which google says is Dana 70 HD – Limited Slip w/4.10 gears. Should have it running here this week just have to deal with replacing the glow plugs which is a pain on the two frontmost cylinders. I'm really curious what everyone thinks about my welded block...- Marcus Metz

Ok so clearly i have to keep the bullhauler alive so I'm looking at tranny options for that. I have an e40d I might buy that would be a direct swap or I can put my spare c6 in it.
