Idibronco, are the motocraft plugs you use self regulating? Also, is there any chance you've got a part number for those? Everything I'm finding for 6.9 Motorcraft plugs look like the threads are a lot different than the 7.3 plugs
In theory that works. Not If you go to long though, lol. I just figure as long as I'm gonna have to do plugs again I might as well get the self regulators, if I can. The harness also has to be replaced because the connectors are quite beat up. So either way I'll be pulling the harness. I just...
Hey all
I just rigged up a manual switch for my gp's and went and burned em up. I guess I was heating the gp's too long cuz now they're all toast. Only 1 shows resistance, the others show exactly 0 resistance.
Anyways, my dad pointed me in the direction of self regulating glow plugs...
Thanks for all the advice. Sounds like I have quite a few options here that I'll have to look into. I'm in no rush to get this project done at the moment, considering the current automatic system is still functioning, and I have a few more pressing projects to take care of on the truck before I...
IDIBRONCO, thanks for all the help. I'll have to mess with that when i get the chance. For now the controller and relay are doing their jobs, so I'm in no hurry
First I have to get the gas out of the rear tank that my wife accidentally put in there... but that's a whole other thread lol
Hey all,
To make a long story short, my wife accidentally put gasoline in the rear tank of my 1990 f250 7.3idi. We were moving both of the trucks and she doesn't drive standard transmissions so I was driving the Chevy and she was in the Ford.
Fortunately, I noticed it before she was done...
Thanks for the info. I guess I was right, stupid idea. Figured it was worth asking though.
So if I understand you correctly all I have to do is run the white wire off the relay to one side of the switch, and ground the other side of the switch somewhere under the dash?
Also, I assume I want...
Hey all,
I just bought a 1990 7.3 with an ATS turbo. Haven't had one of these trucks in years because, unfortunately, I bought my first one as a stupid 18 year old and ruined it. So I sold it to a guy who wanted the zf-5 out of it. And I've kicked myself over that ever since. But now I...
Hey all,
Got a question for y'all. First some back story. 1991 f250 7.3 idi overheated just over a month ago. I thought I had just ran it out of coolant, so I filled the radiator back up with water after work so I could get home. Drove it for almost a month with no issues, then it...
Also, can anyone tell me when it is appropriate to start a new thread, or when I should continue asking questions on the same one? I think I have two or three threads going right now pertaining to this transmission swap, but all covering slightly different aspects of the swap. Should I have just...
What are the chances the throwout bearing or clutch fork aren't aligned correctly and causing resistance to the pressure plate?
Sent from my moto g(7) play using Tapatalk
All 5 speed parts. New master and slave, both for a 5 speed. I believe the issue lies somewhere between the clutch pedal and the throw out bearing. The entire clutch system worked flawlessly in the donor truck. This leads me to believe it has to do with fault hydraulics, as those are the only...
I finally got it started and running and tried to take it for a drive and the doesn't seem to want to engage. I can shift into any gear I want including reverse but the clutch slips really bad. I know the clutch is fine and I'm pretty sure everything is installed correctly. It seems to be a...
