automatic tdi fuel mileage?
I had an automatic 2000 Golf TDI - my mileage varied greatly - depending on what speeds I maintained. Going easy on the pedal and averaging 60 mph on a long trip, I could pull 48 mpg. Same trip, same distance I could get down around 38 mpg by doing 80 mph. It's all good. The big difference...- DieselBurps

Found a diesel K5 blazer for sale
Are the used "take-outs" that bad? With the "up armoring" that is going on, the 6.2's are being dumped en masse right now. Supposedly they are being pulled out of running vehicles and replaced with newer 6.5L turbo engines. I just picked up 2 more 6.2's (3 total now) for $60 each. The box...- DieselBurps

I'd wait until the engine needs it - eventually the compression will drop and you'll lose power. These engines have gone much, much further than what yours is at now. There are many incidents of these engines hitting 1,000,000 miles - and I've seen documented cases of > 800,000 working miles...- DieselBurps

jeep YJ 6.2 conversion
Isn't the J-code the military model - more of a heavy duty engine with an extra 25 hp and ~ 40 lb-ft of TQ? That could be enough of a difference in a heavy Blazer to go from incredibly slow to reasonable.
