Box/tuner for a 2001 Dodge 2500 Auto
Edge EZ, or a Comp box, I would reccomend the Comp and leave the pump wire untapped for the time being. He will upgrade the tranny to handle the power at some point and get the performance bug. It hasn't failed to happen yet.- Billysgoat

what to do?
Ware the headgasket to this extent, LET THE ENGINE WARM UP... once the thermostat cycles one time give it hell. I got the headgasket on my truck from not doing that. what to do?
Tell him to veer away from the Banks kit, they make good stuff but it's high as a cat's back. The AFE like Haz has or a BHAF, Comp Box, 4 or 5 pipe out the back and a set of 275's will make a for a really good power level from that truck. Hold the trip odometer down while turning the key on, this will initiate a self check of the dash cluster, all lights should come on one by one and all gauges should go from all the way over to the left to the opposite side by increments. This will tell you if the gauges themselves are working...- Billysgoat

One other note on the clutch, go ahead and get the high HP rated version of whoever's you go with, the initial cost is not much more and is well worth not having to pull the tranny...again. I did it the "wrong" way the first time and got not enough clutch trying to save some money...big mistake...- Billysgoat

Want oppinions on the option of a MD truck...
Get a 450 or 550, have the cummins conversion done to it and be done with it. I say that with out rancor towards the PSD, good engine, but there is a lot more power available from the Cummins and they have no problems with BioDiesel.
