I get it free (sometimes), we sump it off the trucks to test it for water then in a barell it goes. We run all the equipment off of it but sometimes there is more than we can store so I burn it. We have to pay to have it hauled off so why not use it????
I just mix a quart of oil per tank with...
Yeah I had it dynamically timed last year and they said only 3 bad injectors. The rest are still painted grey.
Must be all that jet fuel I run through it.
Yeah some of the injectors are stock 198k miles. And the dreaded exhaust valve sticking as well as a bad dual mass (I think) cause it shakes like heck at idle and is smooth on the road.
I'm just trying to limp it till summer as I have a new (used) 140k mile engine at the house ready to go in...
 Yesterday on the highway about 2000rpm in 5th gear I hear what I can only describe as a sewing machine at full speed hitting a piece of sheet metal.
It only lasted about 3-5 seconds but scared the crap out of me. Truck seems to run fine but I'm needing to drive it a lot the next few...
Grab your kids sidewalk chalk and make a thick line across the tread. Then drive the truck slowly forward about a half a block and see how it wears. You want enough pressure that it wears off evenly. So just add or subtract it till you find it.
I run 55psi on the front and 50 on the rear while...
Yeah I'm in Cheyenne and that thing smokes like thats it's job. Never thought about the Egt's burning the valves. I was thinking if I'm going to tear into it I might as well do the whole thing. But if I just fix the heads then that leaves turbo money.......
Hmmmmm
Thanks for the heads up on prices I'll check around.
I'll try the oil thing on the valve as well. I think before I pay 92an hour labor I'll do it myself in the street.
I took it on the interstate last night cruising 75 with a small trailer getting 17mpg. I don't think I'll trade it as most...
I have a 1993 F-350 7.3 IDI with 194K miles on it I'm second owner.
This truck is nearly flawless, no rust no dents. It has 4:10 the 5 speed factory limited slips, freezing air cond. It's nearly perfect except for 2 things.
#1 it's a standard cab (but it's usually just me with the dog in the...
Thanks guys for the info. I found a new dealer here and can get the complete setup with 7day timer and the whole unit in a "box" to simplify the installation for 1,100.00.
They have never sold one so they are not much help as they just got them as a product. He did tell me though that if I...

He spoke at the college I went to. He had an aviation scholarship there, quite a guy he still knows the names of all who died and where they were sitting.
RLDSL thank you thats what I was looking for. I have used fuel heaters in airplanes for cabin heat and I think these are similar. As far as addditives go I usually burn waste Jet fuel mixed with Diesel so jelling is no problem. I never thought to look in Europe for the parts.
Thanks again.
It has a 7 day timer.
You just set it for a couple of hours before you get back.
About the ether thing, when I climb off of a snowmobile inthe dead of night with no ambient light except the stars and it's friggen blowing a ground blizzard I'm not to keen on taking anything apart to shoot...
HI newbie here. I tried searching but found nothing about these.

Have any of you used these or something similar. When I leave my truck at the cabin for a few days it is really hard to start. New glow plugs (yes beru) new batteries and...
