I had a question about this transmission swap. We pulled the truck into the shop everything running but the zf. Pulled the zf and the bw 1356 out of the truck. Swapped in a 4spd (i forget if it was the t18 or the t19)and bw 1345. Would the flywheel and the clutch work from the zf to the 4 spd transmissions. If it won't then i think that is where we went wrong. Thanks.

truck is a 1987 ford f250 single cab. Has a 7.3l. Swapped out the 6.9 ages ago with the 4 spd.

Someone said the zf bell is deeper than the 4 speed bell. So the flywheel, and complete clutch will not work.

The input shaft on the ZF5 is bigger in diameter too. Yours may not engage the clutch plate fully enough and slip.
