so i am really considering doing the swap where is the best place to get a bellhousing for the tranny.... and if its possible can i use the housing off of my c6? what all do i need

You can't just swap bell housing on a ZF5, they are integral and you have to have a trans for the specific application.

The C6 and ZF both have an integral bell housing. You will need a diesel specific ZF transmission. Make sure you get one in the drive mode you need(2wd or 4wd) as turning a 2wd ZF into a 4wd ZF isn't easy.
