where to install egt sensor

exhaust manifold? if so where? is back of driver exhaust manifold good?
no turbo.
just wanted the gauge for towing purposes. does the manifold need to be removed?

Exhaust manifold between cylinders 6&8, don't have to pull the manifold, just put a big glob of grease where you'll drill, the shavings will collect in the grease.

IF you have a TURBO....grease is good...

NO turbo...don't need grease...it's just an exhaust then...not a turbo feed that will swallow some chips .....

Do you guys drill the hole from the top side, or from the bottom side? It's about time for me to order my gauge set.

I just opened my hood and I was able to fit my drill in from the top. I'm sure if I tried from underneath, I would have been cussin as soon as a hot shaving dropped down my shirt

Real easy to do. Maybe use a center punch and tap your manifold with it first to keep your drill bit from wandering.
