What's does green stuff out of ac compressor mean?

I was talking to a mechanic a few months ago, if you have the compressor with the 4 legs and the bolts that go straight down to bolt it on, they had problems with those. I thought it was a great setup and it is, if the mounting bracket is flat and the compressor was put together properly(all 4 legs flat). If the bracket is warped or the legs are not even on the compressor, when you bolt it down it stresses the o-ring seals and joints where the compressor case is put together, and it will leak.
