I'm going to go look at a 6.9l on Saturday to possibly replace the 7.3 in my 93. Its supposed to have very low miles after a rebuild the truck it was in got tboned and the engine got pulled. Is there anything I should look for when I go see it, or anything that may be a problem putting it in my truck?

How is it stored? If it is sitting with all the weight on the oil pan the oil pump suction may be restricted.
You want to make sure it is the later version of the 6.9 re block heater cracking
If I was buying an engine I couldn't hear running, other than general appearance,
I would be more interested in sizing up the honesty of the person selling and what recourse if not as advertised.
The 6.9 has slightly different fuel filter set up with the water separator on the firewall.
You will definitely want the 7.3 glow plug system
serpentine belt vs v-belt
Should bolt right in.

Here is a list of changes according to the block serial number. The number is on the top front, drivers side next to the Injection Pump gear cover.
