25 lbs is correct.... Sounds like a high number for such a small bolt but its not really... That bolt is a hardened material and its the same exact bolt thats holding the rear universal to the yolk... Nappa sells them in a kit for u joint repairs. They require a 5/16 12 point socket too.... Thats a tuff socket to find in 1/2 inch drive too...:sly

Heck it was a tough socket to find period! I only found it in 1/4 drive, then I stepped it up to 3/8 drive with my converter socket and used my 3/8 torque wrench.

Thats what I did but I went up to a 1/2 inch drive so it would fit my torque wrwnches. In this area I use two differant torque wrenches to be sure I have the proper torque. This is one area where you want to be sure of the torque... Mel has a calibrated thumb and finger that has never let him down yet... He pushes till it hurts a certain amount.. then its all good.....:eek::angel: I'm not into pain so I use a torque wrench.....:angel::sly
