Weird Brakes

[RGMS4X4]

My Son-in-law just bought a 93 F-250 4X4 7.3 IDI Non Turbo.
When he pushes the brake pedal a little and lets off the pedal keeps going down and applying the brakes. If he tappes the pedal it will come back up.??????? I have never heard of this. Can anybody help with this?

I think that is the MC but You can check some recent threads about brakes where it was discussed.

I had a Ranger that would do that. The booster was bad.

Booster internal valve sticking - replace booster.

Brake booster. 4 nuts from under the dash, and the 2 nuts for the master cylinder. And unhook the rod at the brake pedal.

Thanks for the info. I thought it may be the booster but I have never heard of this happening. Guess ya learn something new every day.
