89 regcab E4OD with heavy pick up style bumper. Registration is due, I can save $75 if the weight comes in under 3099 lbs. Anybody have some real time weights? Thanks

if you strip the truck (especially taking off that bumper) and empty it out as best as possible and weigh it with the fuel tanks nearly empty, you MIGHT get it under 5,000 lbs. I don't think you're going to get that truck under 3,100 lbs unless you turn it into a glider.

My truck's an extended-cab with a fairly heavy toolbox, and I'm usually somewhere between 6,500 and 7,000 lbs "empty". These trucks are NOT light, by any stretch of the imagination...

My 87, empty, with zero fuel in the tanks (put them in new) prior to the dually conversion, etc., weighed just under 6300 lbs. If you pulled the drivetrain out, you MIGHT make 3000 lbs. but I'm sure they would notice it being gone. My truck now weighs a tick over 7400 with flat bed, drw and dump accessories!

Here in Nevada I registered my dually for $43 by only declaring 6000 lbs. Hope a cop don't notice what I did and call me on it.
Now my flatbed tow truck. When I register it it'll cost around $250 if I declare 15,000 lbs and about $350 if I declare 26,000 to cover my butt :(

I just looked up the curb weight on my 92 F350 4x4 CC/LB, and it came out at 5500 lbs. Is the gasser really 1000 lbs lighter than the diesel? Or are they full of crap?

Combination of the two, I think. My registration card says that my truck's unladen weight is 5560 lbs. I'm guessing that I could get my truck to weight that little if I took off everything that wasn't bolted on (and some things that are) and drained all the fluids.

I challenge anyone to put their IDI on a scale and get a weight of less than 6,000 lbs...

Thanks for the replys, I messed up the weight requirement, its 3999 lbs, the current weight stated on the title is 4013, thats why I thought it could be close to the cheaper rate, from the replys its not likely to come in under 3999lbs.
