tips on buying a used p-stroke

I'm considering a '96 c/c shortbed 2wd auto. I've done a walk-around, looked underneath, and everything seems ok. Owner says it has 350k. Is there anything I should pay close attention to? He's asking $3000.00. Thanks guys.

thats a little high in my area, 350k is a lot of miles on the tranny.. any history on where it's been and all??

id look hard at the front end, with those kind of miles im sure the trans has been replaced at least once. id also press for as much maitenence info as he has, but for 3k i dont think you can get too picky

Im going to pick one up next weekend for only 1500 it has 300K how does this deal sound new tires clean truck.
