Ok,
I bought a new voltage regulator. The instructions say to mount it, then measure the ohms to the field terminal and ground.

So I measure between the F and ground and have meg ohm's over the limit. Do I need to be plugged in, and check at the alt? Or what?
Says it should be between 2 and 6 ohm's

Thanks

I think what they really want you to do is check the harness. Measure the ohms between the regulator and the alternator and from the regulator case to ground, to make sure you don't have current loss in your wiring.
