Why go with splits. Go with singles and some good tunes.

This fall my 01 will be freshened up with some 175/80's from PIS with tunes from Gearhead. via a PHP Hydra chip.:cool

I might have to put some fresh guts in the tranny with this set up.LOL

Most of the GTP38 are 99-03. I've found a couple labeled specifically 99, but they all say the exhaust flange would be needed. I'm not certain what that is our how much/ where to get that. Would my TP38 flange work? Are those available in down pipe kits?
What else would I need with this one?

thats the exact turbo i used.

i dont think the TP-38 flange will work, the exhaust housing is completely different.
may be wrong.

they dont sell that piece because they dont know if youre running the EPBV delete kit or not.
here is a listing for the part needed, 60 bucks.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-2003-F...PAD-/181723741782?hash=item2a4f943e56&vxp=mtr

youre going to definitely need a new pedestal. as the TP-38 bolts from below, the GTP38 bolts from above.

both the tp and gtp pedestals are a direct bolt on to the engine itself.

that listing is the only other thing you would need minus new o-rings for the install

you want the one specifically for the 99, the 99.5+ has a different intake housing,
unless you plan on running an inner cooler, then i would opt for the 99.5+ turbo

if you want to run it without an inner cooler, you should get the 99 style.
and make the intake Y like i did on this 89 psd project.

can you weld?

I have every intention of replacing the pedastal, specifically with an EBPV delete pedastal, regardless of what I do with the turbo, so that's not an issue.
Welding is a skill I definitely want up learn but have not just yet. However, my very helpful neighbor is a professional welder with his own professional welder and all that. ;-)

then he can help ya with the intake Y.
thats the only thing that needs to be fabbed.
not certain if you have to do any firewall clearance for the wastegate, but i had to for the brick nose.

making the Y isnt a big deal. just get yourself some 2" exhaust pipe and replace the ones they welded on it stock.

the intake housing will sit higher than a stock TP-38.
this is why you need to replace those pipes on the Y

I haven't given up on the idea of having an IDI, though it could be difficult to justify having another diesel truck. I do have a '79 one ton though.... it could use an IDI and 4wd conversion!
