i have a core starter that i was going to try and rebuild myself. is this crazy talk or can it be done? i did a google search on idi starter rebuild kits and found nothing.

i can get parts for them--but then i have rebuilt starters,generators, and alts for a long time--

pull it apart.
if the armature isn't melted down, it's rebuildable.
if it is, you are better off getting a replacement.
the armature is roughly $120
