I been watching you on this conversion.....OK a question @Nero & all OB folks...... your frontal pic you posted last Friday, I see that metal bracket that goes behind the vacuum pump. What is that bracket for & is it needed?
Few yrs back & bout 90,000 miles when I put that '94 factory IDIT engine in Bessie, my '90 CCLB Dually truck, that bracket wasn't there. Recently I changed out my vac pump, new one came apart, trouble, trouble, etc, etc.
So I pulled vac pump off my '92 IDI NA truck that is down & parked for now..... there was the bracket. So I went & looked at my '94 IDI NA old UHaul truck & lo-n-behold there was a bracket behind that vac pump.....hummm. What is it for & what it do?
I used to hear a definite cycle. Last several yr ago & thru the yrs I've changed out fan clutches..... no more cycling!!! I've just given up trying to get one that will cycle. My temp stays OK etc, but no cycling.

I guess I missed about Ron's setup.????As for this setup, I would definitely recommend everyone get Ron's fan and clutch setup. The install was remarkably easy and looks pretty clean.
