Finally warmed up enough to do things again so I got around to pulling all the GP's and putting a boroscope down them.
Scope is 5.4mm dia and wouldn't go into the actual cylinder in all but #7. Thinking theres something up with that as all the GP holes should be the same size no?
These are the captures I was able to get.

Cylinders are numbered in order as per firing order

Those look very much like the precups. I really do not see any way your borescope can pass thru the precup opening.

Yeah, Looking at a cutaway now I dont see a way to get a good view without pulling heads.
Might get a better look if I pull injectors but not sure.

Wonder why the scope went in further on #7 though.

Great pic of the head design.. We need to remember who "make this up"... Russ aka typ4 cut down a head in several key areas for Mel. then Mel painted them to show what was what. These sure are nice to look at too. notice the precup is kept away from the head by an air gap. I suspect that is so the cup stays hot and not transfer heat to the cooling system.. But I could be full of it.. Just a wag...

The injectors go into the precup like the glow plugs do. It probably won't be a very different picture.
