all of these damn parts i have are really starting to get to me...
not 1 decent lowerend in my arsenal.
going to rebuild block #3 in the mean time.


so, im going to do some unorthodox wrenching to get the engine for the 87 back together and running.
i will be using lowerend #1, an 030 over 7.3 with hairline cracks on the crown of the pistons.
looking at it this morning, the cracks do not run into the cups of the pistons.
im wondering if these pistons were like this from the start.

the heads i already have done will be used since they are already freshened up.

i really need to get this rig running, without spending a ton more money.
when the new rebuild is done, ill do an engine swap.

You got more parts headed your way I imagine you'll enjoy the packaging, even the counterlady at USPS made a comment

success!!!! all 3 broken head bolts i was able to get removed, with a combo of PB blaster, MAP gas in the coolant ports on the outside of the thread bosses and a pipe wrench

EDIT: i also used a baby beater... 2 pound sledge

on it, made a DIY thread cleaner. from a old T bolt hold down from my bridgeport.
