Of course our trucks are all too old for OBDII so the only way to read codes is with a VERY expensive scan tool usually only shops have right??? Wrong... according to my partner at work.
He tells me that you can just put a multimeter on Volts and get pulses from the connector on the truck. Negative lead to battery ground and Positive to the connector probe.
It'll pulse the first digit and then the second etc.
Maybe others already knew this... New to me! Glad I can save $90 next time I have a code pop up!
