I just tore down and parted out a factory turbo engine and grabbed some side by side picture comparisons of the internals before I shipped the rods to idioit.

First, the e4od flywheel. The turbo engine is on top. You will not on the engine side of the flywheel(second picture) there is a weight welded on and also a few holes drilled near the weight.

Now, some pictures of the differences in the rods. NA on the left, turbo on the right.

I have the oil coolers as well. I might tear into them in the morning.

Think it's just perspective Al. They are nice and straight, but I agree that picture has some weird something going on!

Found some interesting stuff when I pulled apart these two oil coolers today.

Both of the coolers, one from a turbo engine and one from an NA engine, are identical. Both have 27 tubes. Not sure if they have ever been changed, but there was no rtv on either of them like you would expect if they had been.

The cooler on the bottom is from a southern truck and the other is from a truck that lived in the St. Louis area. Lotsa rust on that one!

Pic of the part number from the one that was on the NA engine. The other one was too rusty to identify.

Might be hard to see but the differences as I know them are fin count between the two big O rings is a port that passes fluid were you see fins...turbo has more per inch iirc

Turbo cooler bundles have more fins per inch as already posted. Now can anyone tell me why most cooler bundles have this dent in the fins like seen on the turbo cooler??? Not going to be a test either. I just wanted to know the reason.

Yes. Balancer is different. Visually it looked the same, other than me writing turbo on it with a sharpie! You should see that later today Brian.

Pics of block casting and ID numbers. These are both 1994 blocks. First one is an idiT vin code K. Second was a vin M truck.

And the 1994 NA block. Same casting, different internals.
