I am about to purchase a good second hand 97' . it is complete ( alternator , power steering pump , starter motor, etc ),

Its for my project vehicle >>> 68' Jeep J200 4x4 , which i am building now . It will have rockcrusher Hi-pinion D60 , full float , detroit locker - rear end & rockcrusher hi-Pinion , open knuckle , D44 front end for strength & relaiability for many years to come .

Any way i was wondering how i can uprate this motor from the lowly rated 110 hp it's at now , i am planning a propane injection for it , plus a Hi-flow intercooler . I am just not sure about anything else , like turbo , injector pump & injectors , fuel pressure , lift pumps , etc ??? ( i'd really like to upgrade to a higher flowing Ball bearing Turbo , but not sure about the size of it or how to increase fuel delivery to suit )

any advice would be greatly appreciated
cheers
Rick

All the mods often done on a VE pumped 1st Gen 6BT work on the VE pumped 4BT. In stock form the 4BT uses the same H1C turbo also.

6BT injectors, turbo compressor impeller & housing, exhaust housing, pump tweaks, 3,200 rpm governor spring, timing changes, exhaust system upgrades and all the rest are directly applicable to a 4BT. You can get a heck of a lot of power out of one with relatively minor work & minimal expense long before you'd have to think about propane or water/****.

Cummins un-tweaked everything for extreme long term reliablity, you can reverse the process.
